And President Obama's first obligation is to the American People, not to foreign nationals who are in our country illegally.

I think most of the opposition to amnesty is driven by American nationalism (protecting the established culture of  European origin and the language). The economic concerns are questionable as cheap labor and high consumption (% of income) definitely benefits higher income earners. For today's elites nationalism is very bad word and for them it usually equates with racism. They do not understand it. Even speaking of it is taboo; you never hear it brought up in discussions. They are internationalists and globalists. They shop in Paris, invest in China and adopt from Africa. They do not care who lives in city poor districts and what language they speak. They  make  the policy.  I doubt the US democracy is strong enough to stop the amnesty bill. We will see.

"And they "summer" on Martha's Vinyard, they're,................"the beautiful people!" Like that "Hahvard" professor on who's behalf President Obama intervened last year who likes to ride "an adult tricycle" around the island wearing funny hats.
Fellow, I think it's going to be the "Hoy Polloy" who do the speaking in November not the "elites."

***BREAKING*** (that's for "Brain.") There's no support for it in the country or in the Congress or the Senate.
Seems noone wants to be "The Senator/Congressman who voted for amnesty" come election time!
Now let's see if the president will show us some *real change* and start enforcing the federal laws on illegal aliens and closing that border

What exactly would that solve?

Maybe Obama thinks it'll save a few seats in the House and the Senate?
We'll see how that works out for him in November.

No, you mentioned "Now let's see if the president will show us some *real change* and start enforcing the federal laws on illegal aliens and closing that border."

Suppose he did that, what does that accomplish in the grand scheme of things?

Cloudboy, if he did that he'd get MY vote in 2012!
Aren't all Presidents ultimately responsable for making sure our laws are enforced? Yeah, yeah, I know there was a dryspell for 16 years under Clinton and Bush but can't one hope?

Getting your vote is not really an accomplishment.

Cloudboy, here's an idea! How's about he just do his fucking job and enforce our laws or,.....we Impeach him for "Gross Deriliction of Duty?"
That should be "covered" under "High crimes and misdemeanors" right? Let's have some fun with it!

Are you suggesting that we enforce existing laws?
That is a novel idea!
