An....interesting bit of "deduction."

But this has already been given more time than it deserves. Enjoy.

Think what you like - obviously, you already do ... but as that is the only problem that she stated she has with LA, no mention of anything else really, just that she "touts" her education ... well ... it's the only conclusion I can come to. There is no other issue mentioned so ...

In retrospect, it's not worth posting what I originally did.

Thanks for your support Karen. Seeing humanity on this board is refreshing :-)

The OP has let it go, and I will respect that rather than continue here.
Catch you later MM... how does noonish in "Politics and Religion" work for you?

You came in bitching about "irrelevant" points directly answering another poster. I corrected your error.

If you have problems with that, you must have many, many "problems."

I meant what I said in my last post, but nice try at baiting me with a personal attack.
Think whatever you like, as will others who read this thread.
Have a nice day.

Baiting? Personal attack? You mystify me.

A poster came in ranting about how someone's writing style would never pass muster. Another ranted that she's probably threatened by education. In both cases, the posters were laughably wrong in that the person they are talking about is very well educated, highly degreed, a top scholar in her field and very well published. So I pointed out the error.

Then you came in with both barrels blasting away about "irrelevant" posts that were simply replies to what other posters had raised, and the only "personal attack" and "baiting" has been to wonder just what is your problem with that. Whatever it is, it certainly has nothing to do with what's posted.

There was absolutely no rant in *my* post - simply an observation that I made based on the limited information that I have about the person in question. For someone claiming that my deductions were invalid, you've made some rather interesting leaps of intuition yourself, MM.

OK, I agree. You didn't rant, just the leap in logic. Poor word choice on my part.

Sorry about that.

I will repeat, again, my reason for my conclusion - given the limited information that I have from the person in question, that is the only conclusion that I could come to. The only issue that she has stated she has with LA is that she "touts" (which I think it the wrong word anyway ... ) her education. What other conclusion am I to come to except that she has issues with educated people who are honest about it?

OK.

It's faulty induction. You have a single observation, and very limited information as you say, from which you jumped to a psychological analysis stated with certainty. "What other conclusion [are you] to come to"? What's your case for this being an inescapable conclusion drawn from cause and effect?

I drew a completely different conclusion, incidentally, from the same facts, and one I think would hold up much better--these two rub each other the wrong way. So what? It happens.
