i've been in that store (Forbidden Fruit on 6th) many times over the years. And yes, it is exactly like that.....every dildo is labeled as an "educational" tool, they even have condoms nearby that you can buy to put on your "demonstrative model."

And all my out of state friends wonder why when i tell them that to buy any decent toys in Austin you have to order them from out of state - we simply don't have anything in shops here.

But we have lots of strip clubs - even full nude ones!

I was threatened with arrest and deportation if I claimed my toys from Fed Ex... *sigh* The toys were terribly run of the mill. I'm sure that somebody put them on the black market and made a bit of cash. Oh well.

I still say that it's (can I make this part *any* clearer?) NOBODY'S BUSINESS (neither local law, federal law, church fathers, biological fathers, the old biddies at the hair salon, etc.) what I do in the privacy of My or some other consenting adult's home with My body, their body, the toys we brought, and so forth, and no, a marriage license is not required.
I am a grown Woman and a decent human being. I will do and share as I please while causing no harm. No bullshit blue law is going to stop or change that. End of story.

Just because it is nobody's business (I agree) it doesn't change the fact that sometimes it is wiser to just not fight a particular battle when someone else makes it their business. There really is a power dynamic in the world, social mores really do have oomph.

Not everyone has the social freedom to do as they please. We may *say* we do, we may judge others for their decisions, but it does not change what is truly happening.

I've had a snippet of experience with the reality of social mores here and there, sunny. I honestly did *not* fall off the idealistic turnip truck yesterday. I am a Witch with BDSM tendencies, I have had to masquerade and blend in and make nice for most of My adult life; they used to burn folks like Me at the stake, remember? I will continue to masquerade and blend more or less in for the sake of the life that I am building with My family. I will also continue to fight for the inalienable and simple rights and prerogatives that I believe are Mine and every other consenting adult's by birth. As a Texas resident, I can answer. If you have one dildo, it's presumed to be for personal use. But if you are a sicko pervert with lots, they assume you are going to open a sex shop and sell used dildos.

However, the SCOTUS Lawrence decision does impact that law.
