Whoever it is is doing a piss-poor job of it or is downright corrupt.  For example, when you report a user for asking for money, no matter how many times you report the violation, the user's profile remains. Also, I've never seen so many fake profiles on CM as there are nowadays. It just keeps getting worse and worse. Nobody is cleaning up this site, probably to make it look like there are far more real people on here than there really are. You would think that scam artists an liars would be censured, but no, they just keep operating on CM for some reason.  Now, lets say that whoever owns CM isn't into a particular fetish, like FTT, then the reported profile will be deleted in a heartbeat! So scamming is OK, but your fetish better be an approved one (approved by mainstream bdsm ideals), or else. You'll see the same old 15 profiles for a particular fetish for literally years with no new profiles. You would think that whoever owns CM could maybe do a better job of getting quality people into the lifestyle onto CM. That's my rant.

Is there a reason you felt the need to bump a 3 year old thread back up? Since you seem to have a problem reading, this is at the top of every mail on collarme:

DO NOT SEND MONEY TO OTHER USERS FOR ANY REASON!

Should we assume by your rant, pooooor boy, you have had a profile deleted and are throwing a hissy fit?

Might I suggest you ask for a PROMPT refund of all your hard earned dollars, open up your own website, and fill it up with who you want and who you dont want. Then, you who has had other profiles in addition to this one, can call anyone fake you wish to.Until then, you are one of many poor whining boys that send money, and then expect to have someone else take the blame for their mistakes.

edited to add: I see Im number 3-that's me a day late and dollar short(and it was not because I sent it to a scammer, lol

FR

Come on now, no reason to be mean. If I gave a shit I could find out. Anyone who owns a website can be found. They can be found, if not by Google, by hackers or law enforcement. Public records.

Really, I have someone I could mail and find out if I needed to know for some reason, but does it really matter ? If you got money or make really good money what does it cost for a site like this ? You have to pay for the software, get a domain, pay the registry fees and keep up on the hosting fees, which could increase with alot of users. This could result in a higher price being paid for ads on the site, but since we are not bombarded I don't think the object of the site is profit. Really, if I made about three times what I make I could probably handle it. So three folks with my income could probably do it. Once the software is paid for, it's just another monthly bill. Give it to the accountant.

Over the years it has come obvious, whoever is doing this is not in it for profit, and if they choose to remain anonymous what the fuck do I care ? Now that I think of it, the owner of sweetchastity.com got found by hacker thugs, fagbashers. He got an ass whippin by a few because of it. Maybe that anonymity is a good thing. It seems to be quite valuable here. Out here in the forum, you are priveledged to post, but if you screw up and stick a real email address in here they will remove it. Also, even though there is a content filter, Cmail is actually more private than regular email.

You know what would be more interesting to me than the name of who owns the place ? Just the details of their life. No name needed, just their background, what are they into, what do they do, an approximate geographical location and things like that. The name doesn't really matter if you don't know the person. But here you can know the personna without knowing the person.

And, vested and tenured CMers, notice how newbies have a tendency to bring up threads that are years old ? Doesn't that indicate that we used to be more interesting ? Food for thought, bon appetite.

Did you see this on the report page? I mean, it's all in bold and dark red and capital letters, so you did read it, right?  This:  INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT IS REMOVED BY OUR AUTOMATED SYSTEM AFTER A PREDETEMINED NUMBER OF USERS HAVE REPORTED IT

So how many users do you think you are?  Even if you have multiple personalities, you are still only one user.  Sorry to burst your bubble on that.

ALL HAIL TEH KITTEH!!!!

Valyraen -> RE: Who Owns CM? (12/20/2009 10:21:35 PM)

As a fellow feline, I flatly refuse to pay homage to any kitteh, let alone one who takes such poor care of his coat. A few hours of brushing and getting rid of that ridiculous foil hat would fix that problem.

And, for those not familiar with my tongue-in-cheek sense of humor... well, you just got pawed ^.-
