What did you do that had a mod writing you that would get a letter sent to a private email at all?

To BoiJen

That is the question isn't it...why would they be emailing you off-site at all... and then the follow up how do you know it was even from a mod from here?

I understand your concern.
I understand your being upset.
I understand your wanting to get answers NOW and in reaction feeling a need to post a warning to others...
BUT
the truth is that you don't know all the facts yet.
You only know what the facts seem to be and my suspicion is that when everything is sorted out you will discover that nothing nefarious occured involving the moderators of this site.

edit:clarity and assorted stuff

Lockit...the mod removed a post. Whatever..I get spanked and I'm fine. especially when I suspect from go that they're gonna pull a post. Pulling posts in such a biased manner as 11 did did get me to complain about it. However, this wasn't pulled by 11.

Here's a copy of the support message back on this site...note: not my personal email...

Dear BoiJen,

That email address is what you put on your profile on the collarchat side.  When threads are removed, the moderator has the option of clicking a button to send the OP a message, which is sent to that email address.  The Moderator doesn't see the email address, just the text of the message that they are sending.

There is no security breach or hacking.

      With regard,

      The Collarme Support Team

However, the Support team is wrong. The email addresses, the one listed here and the one I received the message at are different. And if I could post the email addresses used I would.

Ron has sent me some information on a firewall (I assume) program and how to get more protected...and for that I am grateful.

boi

Instead of jumping to conclusions, next time we would appreciate it if you would write to Support (which you did), or to a Moderator, and then wait for an answer before posting something that is sure to alarm people.

Support tells us that they responded to you, and for anyone else wondering, that message was sent to the email address that you put on your profile here on Collarchat.  The moderators do not have access to the email address itself, just a button to click to send a message.

Hopefully this resolves any lingering doubts.

ModeratorTwentyOne

Hey Mod twenty one, whatever happened to Mod 6, she was nice.

Pfft. Mod 21 is 3, maybe even 3 and a half times the mod Mod 6 ever was.

Wait till hunky and RO hear about this!

I don't think Alex Jones has written about it yet, I'm sure he'll be wanting to conduct interviews with all parties concerned.

OK, again, this is something the site usually speaks its peace as 21 did, and that's it. However, I do not want ANY user to worry about Collarme accessing their emails or computers or personal information.(Although, on a personal note, I was scrambling this morning to get into my personal computer at home, seriously, and called the programmers here and on irc, TRYING TO HACK INTO MY COMPUTER AT HOME AND NOONE COULD HELP ME)So, I am including a screen print of the screen that the mod actually uses after removing a post or thread, and as you can see, it is simply a button that they click;they do not see the address, therefore, there is no address for them to see. Looking at the email address on the profile, it is now different than the email address mailed to, however, the system only looks at that box and mails whatever is in there, even if a fake address; I don't know how it sent to a different address than what was in the box, it has NEVER to our knowledge happened before. There are times the email has been changed coincidentally slightly before or after went out, but that's the closest the site is aware of.

Edited to add: This thread is now locked, I just wanted to make sure everyone saw the screens.
