You've heard my voice, S_T. You tell me if it's pleasing or not. Personally, I don't like it. I wish it were a bit deeper. And I wish I had a singing voice. I don't have a strong accent anymore; it's been modified by living in the South for 40 years or so.

I think I sound very much like Philip K. Dick.

What do you sound like? Do you think you sound like you look?

Kim Kardashian whatever her name is, is beautiful, voluptuous, many folks’ wet dream, apparently, but I don’t know how anyone could take her for more than 5 minutes…unless she was gagged. To me she sounds nasal, grating, whiny even when she’s not whining.

Fran Drescher is another, especially that horrid voice she used on The Nanny.

I have a fairly deep voice, and a strong southern accent. I can deepen it more, and moderate the pace and tone, to a decent effect LOL, I've had a few women comment on how "soothing" it is, which may or may not be followed by a launching of the panties.

And I have a very strong interest in how others sound; a woman can be very average looking, and have that certain sound, and she'll have my attention.

Prove it ;)

My voice, to me varies between Lauren Bacall, and teenager.  It sounds horrible on tape.

And I also tend to pick up accents easily, unless I work to make sure I dont.. I spent a week in Regina, Saskatchewan, and the natives thought I was local.  When I went to England, I worked hard not to pick up the accent in London (I didnt want to seem pretentious when I got back home, which is the impression MOST Americans have when someone has a posh English accent here).

edited to add a wayward 'p'

I hate my voice, but people have told me i have what they would deem a porn star/phone sex voice.  I don't agree with them and get embarrassed when i hear my own voice like recorded.  What's worse is i think i sound like my mom and i don't like her voice lol.    My voice is of a lower key but a friend said it  has this vibration in it -- i have a Chicago accent with every now and again a hint of south as i am transplanted to TN lol.  I've been told i talk with my voice and not with my nose -- whatever that means.  On my profile when its up, i do have an audio intro and that got a lot of people saying wow they loved my voice.  So i know we don't hear our voices like others do lol.   When i get men saying to me all the time on the phone that they love my voice -- its kind of disconcerting at times because when this happens its usually in a business environment.    I've also been told my voice fits me.

For me, i can lose interest in a guy in a snap as soon as i hear his voice.  I am very auditory and a man's voice can be a big tool he can use on me.

Yeah most aussies sound hot....."sound" is the key word there.

coughs....um Laurell - are you saying we sound hot but aren't?   Should I be offended?

I used to do radio shows a long time ago and remember how horrified I was the first time I heard a recording of one of my shows.  My voice sounded so different to how it sounds in my head - if that makes sense.

I have an incredibly Aussie accent which is no surprise given I was born here and have lived most of my life here apart from a few stints overseas but because of my Indian background people seem to expect me to sound different.

I have one or two words that people tell me come out incredibly English, a left over from the year I spent there after uni.  In particular when I say "lovely" or "cheers".

My voice is quite high pitched which I dislike, I want to sound deep and vampy damnit, not like a kid but my friends and family tease me that they know immediately when I am switching into counselling mode as my voice drops and  speak slower

A deep voice can drop me to my knees as can most accents...... apart from the New Zealand one (no offence to any Kiwis )

I have been told I sound like I'm eating potato chips when I talk.  I truly hope that isn't what the people with normal brains think I sound like.

haha no wanders, I'm just saying assuming someone is physically attractive from their voice has proved to be a faulty decision making process for me in the past

I stopped warshing my clothes with soap powder.

I also am very careful about my accent when I teach.

An occupational hazard is talking slowly and ennunciating every word. My voice itself - not quite a screech but dang close. Sorry. *I feel bad for my students. It was better when I was a therapist; all I had to do was nod a lot and say hmmmm.

I only like my voice when I have a cold (like now), and it's all deep and throaty.  However, other people have me record their business greetings on their voicemail system or phone system, so I guess they hear something I don't.  At one point, my voice was the greeting for a dozen or so professionals in my town; it was odd to call their phone and realize I was listening to my own voice.

Living in California we have no accents (of course), but when I get angry, or stern with my kids, you can tell I lived in the south at one time.
