quote:
ORIGINAL: reynardfox I own the most boring, truly dull, car in the world. It was bought out of practical necessity and I would honestly not give it to my worst enemy, it is tedium on wheels and I have to play the stereo at full blast just to keep awake. It is valium, ennui, it is a mechanical coma, it is a Mazda 3. I looked at it this morning and something snapped in my head. I am getting rid of it and I want something that makes my blood run again. Front runners are a black Mercedes or a gunmetal baby Jaguar. Having looked at the image cars, like the Impala in Supernatural, or even Death's Cadillac sixty special in the same show, or John steeds bentley and Mrs Peels Lotus, or blade's nighmaremobile or Elvira's convertible, I know I need something that says Dom to me, something that reflects my own inner playful darkness. What would you drive? What do you drive? I am also buying a bike again after 20 years, an old lump of metal that makes more noise than hell. How about you? Fox, I'm 59 and I think it's our duty to drive nice cars as we get older! I drive a 2009 Lincoln mk S with all the bells and whistles. (There's some pics of it in my profile.) They call the color "cinnimon" and it even has a moonroof for the back seat. Heated and cooled leather seats from Scotland. Kick-Ass THX surround sound 5.1 stereo with 12 speakers, a jukebox that will store 25,000 songs off of c.d.s or blackberry, Navigation, Sirius radio, VERY comfortable car! And it moves too, a V-6 with 275 H.P. 270 lbs/ft torque that gets around 21 city/27 hghy on regular gas, great ride. It's a lease but I'm probably going to buy the car at lease end. I figure at my age why not treat myself, right? Why wait? If you want a Jag or Mercedes then go out and start looking! In my younger years in the military I couldn't really afford a nice car. Then in the mid 90's I was a truck man, two Ford F-150 Lariats and one King Ranch! Great trucks! Never liked bikes, you see them all huddled under bridges when it rains. And in any accident bikes always lose and the riders are seriously injured or killed. At this point in my life I like comfort, luxury and performance.
