The top comes off right? On the vette I mean. P.S. Aynne, I was reading somewhere that the new vettes get 23-25 mpg on the highway, is that true? It makes sense, a big engine that isn't really laboring that much at 70 mph. I've always been a Ford man but the new Camaro is a great looking car! The 2011 Mustang will re-introduce the 5.0 engine with...........419 horse power!

I like the 1950's Buick Roadmaster and I like the Morgan but generally cars bore me. Theres something very tasteless about older men and women driving what they believe to be flash cars. It cries of desperation in my opinion. I wouldn't want people looking at me because of my car but then I'm not a snob!

Look at the huge weight difference and the corresponding power to weight ratio. At least for the quarter mile...it would have been no contest.

We have an Italian super car! When we pulled into this marina to get some work done on our yacht, we decided to hire a car but an evening in our local yacht club proved fruitful. We got chatting to a couple that were about to set sail across the Atlantic and they gave us the keys to their car. Its a 20 year old Fiat that pretty much runs on air, has absolutely no rust and has only done 40,000 miles. When we leave here we will throw the keys in someone else's direction. She may not look sexy but then who needs a sexy car when you have a sexy yacht [;)]

Longest time I've ever owned a car 1998 Z3 2.8 with a Hamann performance package. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. As much fun to drive with the top off as it was the day I got it! I just have a truck and the M3. I enjoy my M3, it's zippy yet relatively economical.......until it has to be serviced or tires purchased. Gotta love 'high performance' zings. As for dead sexy cars, well I am very lucky. My son works with a very very wealthy man that is building a fleet of American Muscle cars that will be time-shared by a few very very wealthy individuals world wide. The only cars they have so far in this fleet I have no interest in driving are the Vettes. I've never liked them. Every time I see one it's being driven by a middle aged, over weight person that is desperately trying to be 'hot' and don't know they are not. Plus, I think they are butt ugly... The one I totally cannot wait to drive is a 60something Cuda drop top that they just dropped a custom engine in they special ordered from Nelson Racing Engines. It will run on either pump gas or racing fuel and is going to be screaming fast. The hard top will have an even larger engine in it. They are both in Peru right now for the paint and interiour.... Every time I talk to my son I ask about the ETA. When the fleet is complete it will contain every special muscle car made in the US. Why buy when I can drive one for free??[:D] Edited to add.........that red Road Master is dead sexy!!!

It is pretty rediculous though seeing a guy in his 50's or 60's riding around in a vette with the top down, toupe flapping up in the wind with a "VIAGRA" air freshener hanging off the rearview mirror. Can you imagine the look on a woman's face on the first date seeing a "VIAGRA" air freshener hanging from the rearview mirror? PRICELESS!
