ORIGINAL: Fellow I do agree: there is a practical science we can test and use and there are the abstract theories some almost religiously believe in. We have very poor understanding of all important components of the universe (space, energy/matter and time). The question is if understanding is even possible considering our limits. Therefore, everybody is welcome to create their own theories. Why should we accept fantasies people in Academia come out with? well the problem is that real science conflicts with commerce. we have that commercial wheel that needs to be greased. we have been groomed to believe this is the only way it can be. well for a certian few that is very true. its where all their investments. are tied up. Look at teslas magnifying transmitter proven to work, in his words 10 horsepower in 10million horsepower out. That and it would have tramsmitted energy to every car on the planet because the earth is not an obstacle. Remember he had remot controlled boats that he drove around new york harbor in 1900. How long before we used that technology? Not till a commercial market could be established under th econtrol of the boys on top. Now... its proven technology but if he were left to get it to the world, infinite energy if not literally free what would that have done to commerce and the boys on top that have everything tied up in it? Science stopped at 1900. well with exception to bombs, now we have near radiationless li6 nukes that you can almost fit into the case for your glasses. You see its all about money and commercial, not what science can provide for the benefit of man.
