ORIGINAL: lobodomslavery Did you do it unpaid. if you did regardless of the fact that you are a slave in a BDSM sense, you should sue Him/Her, they are breakign the law, you are entitled to be treated with fairness at work, fairness includes fair pay if on contract, if not sue kevin You are entitled to be paid the agreed rate under the contract - whether this is a fair rate or not is something to have considered at the time of agreeing the contract, minimum wage legislation notwithstanding. Its a criminal matter if minimum wage at the least is not paid and here's the rub; a prosecution for that would take precedence over your civil suit so you might be waiting a long time and paying a lot of fees and end up recovering nothing. In fact its more than likely you will recover nothing, either because said employer cant pay by the time your judgment is won or because, being the sort of crafty sod who chooses not to treat employees properly, the employer has disappeared. And have you heard the joys of the counterclaim I wonder? If the employer didnt pay you because you didnt do the work or did it so badly that you didnt meet your contractual obligations and then you sue, you might find it all ends in tears when you get sued back for the damage and losses you produced, far in excess of the wages you allege to have been withheld. In summary, dont go suing people unless you are confident of winning, the defendant is worth suing and there isnt a counterclaim likely to be thrown back at you. Even so dont go suing anyone unless you can take the hit if you lose. E
