Besides myself?? Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell: both Constitutionalist, fiscal-hawk types... Zell Miller, my all time fav Democrat.. Rick Santorum, who doesn't really fit the Republican party as he actually still has a spine. In the resurrection department: Anyone who was on the Anti-Federalist side in the debate over the formation of the US Government...Thomas Jefferson, my second all-time fav Democrat...

Eric

I like both Williams and Sowell, very bright men. Don't always agree with them, but I don't always agree with anyone lol.

Who would you vote for to be the next president of the United States, well-known or not, and why? they can even be someone from CollarMe.

i'm hoping this will turn out to be a fun thread.

Eric Cartman. First of all he wouldn't take shit from anyone. He would certainly abuse his power but it would be in the country's best interests. Plus he would call stupidity by its name and not play a political game with it. I think Stan should be his Vice President. Someone that will keep Eric in check.

Barring that, Bugs Bunny. He would pull things on people that piss him off that would be a hoot to watch. Look out Congress if you veto Bugs. "You realize this means war."

If we really have to have a human in office, then Ben Stein would get my vote along with Colin Powell. Ben Stein is bright, articulate, funny and would really give this country a shot in the arm. Colin Powell's time has come and gone. If he would have ran after the Gulf War he would have been a lock. I still think that he is the best guy for the job but the racist morons would see that his lifespan is shortened.

I'm all for eliminating the middle man ... we should just find a way to put Halliburton in office.

Thanks for your reply.

There are many reasons, but the one that really comes to mind was McCain's defiant  opposition to the Arizona taxpayer and citizen protection act {Proposition 200 - the equivalent to California's prop 187}It won by a landslide. Why would you vote against your own constituents; the folks who put you into office in the first place?

As far as McCain being one of the staunchest opponents of pork-barrel spending? I disagree. Just last year he sneaked a 1.8 billion dollar rider into the Federal Medicaid Bill, to bail out over a hundred hospitals in bankruptcy as a direct result of non-paying illegal aliens. The hospitals are still going bankrupt.

And while McCain’s campaign finance reform bill certainly received lots of good press, McCain and Feingold actually voted against the ''Wellstone'' amendment, which sought to limit the size of ''single'' contributions from private individuals - Thus allowing wealthy candidates like McCain and John Corizine to effectively ''buy'' the office in which they are running for.

Termyn8or -> RE: Who would you vote for to be the next President... (4/10/2006 10:10:01 AM)

Someone back there said Ron Paul.

I second that wholeheartedly. Rep. Paul is probably the only one in government who actually understands the Constitution. I absolutely refuse to vote for tweedle dee or tweedle dum, but if Ron Paul actually ran for President I would not only vote and campaign for him, I would offer to be a bodygaurd if he were elected.

One concern I would have is that his Vice President having similar integrity because let's face it, there is a good possibility he would be assassinated.

There is much to be read that Ron Paul has written, and if elected there would be alot of changes. Besides sweeping tax reform and bringing our troops home he would probably rescind hundreds of executive orders that are unconstitutional. In simple terms Ron Paul would uphold his oath, and that is dangerous.

There is a "partnership" between government, the media and big business to screw us out of everything they can get, but it is not a conspiracy. Why ? Because the conspirators are the ones who decide what is a conspiracy and what is not.

Ron Paul is not part of this "partnership" and as such knows better than to run for President. At least while alive he is one voice on our side. Dead he can do nothing. I don't blame him for not even thinking about it. Patriots who know whats going on will surely mourn his death, and Presidency is likely to accelerate the process.

Ron Paul is a representative for Texas and I live in Ohio, but I am absolutely sure that I would be more likely to get results writing him than "my" congressman.

People around here may joke about voting for Oprah Winfrey, or some cartoon character, but this doesn't upset me at all. It would be an improvement.

If you want an idea of what really representing the People persuant to the Constitution means, do a search and find the story of when Rep. David Crockett met a Man named Horatio Bunch while campaigning for reelection. Yes Davy Crockett was a congressman ! Crockett or Bunch would make a fine President, but like most true Patriots, they are dead.

Thank you all for wrecking my f_______ day, but it is OK. No matter how bad things are, if we bury our heads in the sand they will only get worse. Not that they won't get worse anyway, but to ignore it is wrong.
