posters who bring up 10-15 different topics in every post and then try to make an argument that they are all related?

No, the Iraq War was in the planning stages long before 9/11 ever happened and long before Dubya was elected.
It had long been a neocon goal to topple Saddam which they believed should have happened during the Gulf War.

Or did you now interpret this thread topic as "Obama on the Iraq War?"

Then again, the use of 'neocon' and 'Dubya' shows more a juvenile need to name call when bankrupt of argument points.

Granted it's only one topic and not 10-15, however I think that was a standard use of misrepresentation by rml in lieu of facts. In other words - pointing to consistency as opposed to deliberate lying; more an expectation of hypocrisy exhibited rather than criticism.

No Merc, I didn't change the topic, I just made a response to another person's post.

And since when do these threads stay precisely on-topic, especially considering the posts were not that far off-topic.

Neoconservative is not a derogatory term.

It's considered a political movement.  Look it up.

Dubya is what all his supporters called him.  Do I need to bring up the links with the campaign signs?

I use it to distinguish him from his father, though I do have to admit I always thought it was an idiotic term, but quite fitting in his case.

Where is the same criticism for Bush in these links that you have steered towards Obama?

If you could not find those posts, what makes you so damn sure others have not made similar posts and you simply could not find those either? you are assuming alot, domiguy.

His plan calls improving border security, ensuring employers are held accountable if they try to hire undocumented workers or break other laws, and assigning a series of responsibilities on the millions of people living in the United States illegally. Those include requiring them to pay a penalty and back taxes, learn English and get in line toward becoming a legal resident and citizen of the country.

So no one has an issue with Obama's plan, if this is indeed his plan and it comes to pass?

Tazzy, I don't like any of it, there's all kinds of "issues."
"Improving border security?" That doesn't exactly tell us much does it? Does he mean Troops, more border patrol, will the border be totally under control like we have in S. Korea, only loosly under control?
And the "employers held accountable" part, does that mean six months in the county lockup or three years in Atlanta Federal Prison?
And as for the "millions of illegals living in the U.S." they need to go back to their own countries either by deportation or more likely "self deportation" by not being able to get jobs.
I cringed watching Obama on the news not standing up for Arizona in front of Mexico's president!
The people in Washington need to realize that Mexico is not our friend!
Ha, an e-mail from Yahoo just popped up, "Divided congress greets Mexican president calderone!" lol
This'll be like the Irainian president Achmed Imanutjob visiting!
And we shouldn't be giving Mexico anymore money to "fight drugs", gee, that's been working so well for the last 15 years!
Right now Obama needs to be focusing on border security and that means Troops, physical barriers, and to start enforcing our immigration laws strictly!
And Mexico needs to start taking care of their own country and stop relying on the U.S. Taxpayers to take care of their people.

P.S. I was one of Bush's biggest critics on this.

Music, we have Troops that we're paying for already. Put 30 -50 thousand of them on the border. And we'll be out of Iraq what, next year? There's certainly no shortage of Troops! And we can always cut that $45B that were handing out in "foreign aid" each year.
Finances aren't the problem.
Why have 30 thousand Troops sitting around up in Washington state with the 7th Infantry? Or what, 80,000 at Ft. Hood in Texas or 50,000 at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri? We could have 30,000- 50,000 Troops deployed along that border within 48 hours. That's not "the problem."
"The problem" is in Washington, D.C. where they are not *listening* to The People on this issue.
Well, they're going to be listening on November 2nd aren't they?

Good luck convincing conservatives our military is too large.

Isn't there something legally that prevents using troops for domestic enforcement in this way, though?

We'll never be out of Iraq. Reduced, yes, but never out. It's one thing McCain had right.

It is against the law for service personal to perform active duty in the U.S. It least it used to be.

Imagine how much money Blackwater could make patrolling the borders?

Music, I believe "Posse Committatus" prevents the military from doing domestic law enforcement involving U.S. Citizens.
The real purpose of the military is to "stem invaisions" just like this. There's no problem with arresting foreign nationals though, the military arrests pirates off the coast of Somalia so arresting Mexican foreign nationals isn't included in "Posse Committatus" as they're not U.S. Citizens.
We've had Troops on that border many times already, Bush had them there a few years ago although they didn't do much.
Black Jack Pershing was there for a bit too!

Lucy, why would anyone be "for" illegal aliens?

Lucy, is it a requirement to be in the U.S. to be a ,..."human being?"
And where is the animus for their home countries for not taking care of them?
And where are the human rights of U.S. Citizens not to have our country invaded by illegal aliens?

Looks like you have work to do then.

Ask some of those Hondurans, Costa Ricans and Colombians how hospitable Mexico is to them as they try and enter there illegally. Mexico is 100 % justified in securing it's borders. My problem with them is when the call us racist , harsh and just darn right mean for attempting to do the same with our border. Mexico expects people who enter their country to have your own money and health care. And not upset the racially dominant make-up of native Mexicans in their country. Which is hilarious.

Great post blacksword.
Mexico is one of the last countries I would want to be caught living in illegally.

But Mexico does allow sexually frustrated virgins across the border.

That's why they have Tijuana.

Hi tazzygirl,

The US is over-due for immigration policy reform and better enforcement particularly in regards to the employers who knowingly hire and recruit illegal workers. We are going to be waiting until after the mid-term elections are finished at least though.

Why is anyone surprised by their immigration policies?

It isn't exactly a walk in the park to become a U.S.citizen. It isn't as rigorous but you still need to have accomplished a set of criteria to gain entrance and acceptance.
