I personally would recommend against engaging in any kind ofpro-domination (or prostitution, which everyone knows isn't that far off)) because of the mutual objectification that occurs necessarily.

Have you paid for sex or pro domination/submission? Also have you received payment for sex/pro domination/submission? If not, please don't attempt to tell people who have how they MUST feel, because as someone who has some experience of this, you are talking bollocks.

You kidding me?

You don't have to try something to be against it. Yes, even [shudders] generally.

Also, if you look more closely, I'm not telling anyone how they 'MUST feel', which is an obvious diversion from the point of the matter, that it's sensible at times to suggest what should be done despite how one might 'feel'.

Not everything that people want to do or feel they should do should be done or supported or justified or accepted.

This form of 'tolerance' coincides with a world that's ugly, brutally pointless. It's 'pathological', in both senses.

Not only that, people who try to maintain the sort of fantasy that you advocate often will reach a point where their lifelong illusion breaks down, and the result is far more traumatic than if they maintained a more realistic perspective from the beginning.

Yeah, but... sorry for interrupt your politics of convenience.

Again, very intelligent response. I like the way you look at the things LadyNTrainer.
My advice was actually that people don't get in a RELATIONSHIP where they are not desired as persons. Since a session with the pro-domme is not a relationship, this could be an exception. I admit I put it a bit awkwardly at first. Actually pro domination isn't bad in itself, it is bad if it is used as a replacement for a real relationship.
As long as the relationships between provider and client are clearly separated from personal relationships, all is cool. The problem is that in the D/s it can sometimes get blurry, and also, as you said, it's unethical to play the lifestyle domme, and after some time start asking for tributes.

Your advice lacks insight and knowledge. Why would anyone take it?

Again, speak for yourself.

What he's saying makes perfect sense. I personally would recommend against engaging in any kind of pro-domination (or prostitution, which everyone knows isn't that far off)) because of the mutual objectification that occurs necessarily.

I was speaking for myself. It was a question. Get it?

In one statement you tell me to speak for myself and then recommed against mutual objectification?

Who the fuck are YOU?

The point is pretty simple: that I find the poster you say has no insight and knowledge to have more insight and knowledge than you.

I find both the OP, and yourself quite vapid. You can blather on about how this thing is bad and that thing is good. it is easy to have a theory, things often change when the rubber hits the road.

Your turn...:)

God forbid we get brought up on charges for neglecting to properly care for the little critters.

Meh. They've learned to forage and bottomfeed for this long on their own, we're not doing them any favors by feeding their basic need of attention whoring and chain yanking.

I'm fairly certain the local constabulary would understand.

Decided that there is no point

Lilly, silence and sn are all about the same age. Guess it points up strongly the fact that females simply mature a lot faster than males.

As I said in the other thread, since you don't have any experience with D/s, it's a bad idea to try to advise other people on it. Would you give people advice on how to train their dog if you'd never owned one, or even walked one on a leash?[;)] I have no problem with discussing things that have worked for me, or that I don't think would work for me, but I don't try to tear other people down for having different needs and desires than I do.

You're the one whose logic circuits resemble those of a monkey.

Settle down, folks.

I think what irked me personally was the tone of the 'guidelines' more than the content-it's one thing to say 'I want to be in a relationship where I'm valued for x,y,z so that is what I will look for' and another thing to say *repeatedly* that any relationship not fulfilling those parameters is invalid and 'people should not' engage in them. I counted-he used the words should/shouldn't nine times in the OP. That's a bit rich.

Exactly!!!  If there is one thing that anybody who is into BDSM should know, it's that everything doesn't work for everybody.  Different strokes for different folks.

Frankly, i have many friends who are into things that i find to be disgusting.  But it works for them.  So i don't judge.

i don't disagree with SocratesNot's desire to have a mutually respectful relationship.  What i disagree with is how readily he dismisses anything that doesn't fall within his narrowly defined parameters.  But the parameters are absolutely fine, particularly if they work for SN.  He just needs to refrain from dictating what types of relationships others may enjoy.

I guess meta-dictating is allowed then.

The words '...if he wants to not irk people on these boards' were kinda implied there, Silence.

It's a context thing.
