One reason people are angry: quote:
Support for repeal of the new national health care plan has jumped to its highest level ever. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 63% of U.S. voters now favor repeal of the plan passed by congressional Democrats and signed into law by President Obama in March. Prior to today, weekly polling had shown support for repeal ranging from 54% to 58%. Currently, just 32% oppose repeal. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/healthcare/march_2010/health_care_law Cap and tax is another, no one wants it but our current government doesn't care what the majority want. Then there were the bailouts, stimulus, there are the insane deficits. The list goes on and on. Democrats are even running against Washington, they fear being identified with the pork and the slime thats oozing out of every doorway there. Sure, you can pretend that the TEA Party has no standing but the only one you're fooling is yourself. quote:

ORIGINAL: TPEOwner I've said for a long time on CM that our govt. wasn't *listening* to The People! Why should they listen, when you have nothing to tell them? You have no ideas, no plan, nothing other than, "well, I'm fuckin angry". Actually, though, I think the government HAS been listening to the people- We all wanted lower taxes- we got 'em. We all wanted higher Defense spending, higher Social Security spending, higher Medicare spending- and we got it. We all ignored the deficit and as Dick Cheney said, "Reagan proved that deficits don't matter." Trouble with the Tea Party is that these people pretend they had nothing to do with any of this; as if none of these people ever voted for politicians who promised to increase Defense spending, as if none of these people ever voted against a politician because he was going to raise taxes, as if none of these people ever voted for the guy who both cut taxes and increased spending... and now that the chickens have come home to roost, the Tea Partiers act surprised and look around for who is to blame.
