Hmmm. Just like a conservative African-American isn't really black, huh?

Quick! If you don't like the message, try to destroy the messenger!

Look, she is your wife, good on ya for standing up for her.

Honestly she is not doing what I espouse at all. She doenst feel like a woman to me but a man in a chicks body, nothing remotely close to what I am talking about. I dont like her way or her or her words. She does not represent a woman to me. Her heart is not where I feel a woman's heart would be at. She is your wife so thank the Lord you care about her she has you and your ways and you seem cut from the same cloth so glad you are trotting happily over there.

You and her are the same person and I dont like where either are you are coming from.

Your rationalizations are breathtaking.

My my my, awfully judgemental. Treasure seems extremely feminine to me. But then again i dont expect women to cowtow to each other. Treasure is intelligent and well articulated. I dont always agree with her, but i dont have too. Nor do i have to agree with someone all the time to see the wisdom in what they post about.

honestly, heartcream. in my opinion, you owe her an appology.

Trying to apply logic to right wingers is about as likely to succeed as teaching calculus to cows, though the cows may smell better. They don't need to understand. They hate anyone and anything that espouses compassion. All a rational human being needs do is shut up and let the right wingers talk The fools will always open their mouths and remove all doubt. Just compare their vitriolic hatred of us, with our amusement at their sheer idiocy. Nuff said.

whoaaaaaa eerie...

If that had been the way she had originally worded it, you would have been applauding her wit.

And the plan is....well, there isn't any plan. So things will of course get better.

By magic, no doubt.

I imagine with time and maturation that a plan will eventually form.  Whether it will actually make a difference has yet to be seen.  I have my doubts.

Yea, I also have my doubts. But in the meantime, they are giving the left wing nuts a whole new group to hate on, and I know that makes them happy. The repub jokes were growing old.

One reason people are angry:

quote:

Support for repeal of the new national health care plan has jumped to its highest level ever. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 63% of U.S. voters now favor repeal of the plan passed by congressional Democrats and signed into law by President Obama in March.

Prior to today, weekly polling had shown support for repeal ranging from 54% to 58%.

Currently, just 32% oppose repeal.

Cap and tax is another, no one wants it but our current government doesn't care what the majority want. Then there were the bailouts, stimulus, there are the insane deficits.

The list goes on and on.

Democrats are even running against Washington, they fear being identified with the pork and the slime thats oozing out of every doorway there.

Sure, you can pretend that the TEA Party has no standing but the only one you're fooling is yourself.

I've said for a long time on CM that our govt. wasn't *listening* to The People!

Why should they listen, when you have nothing to tell them?

You have no ideas, no plan, nothing other than, "well, I'm fuckin angry".

Actually, though, I think the government HAS been listening to the people-

We all wanted lower taxes- we got 'em.

We all wanted higher Defense spending, higher Social Security spending, higher Medicare spending- and we got it.

We all ignored the deficit and as Dick Cheney said, "Reagan proved that deficits don't matter."

Trouble with the Tea Party is that these people pretend they had nothing to do with any of this; as if none of these people ever voted for politicians who promised to increase Defense spending, as if none of these people ever voted against a politician because he was going to raise taxes, as if none of these people ever voted for the guy who both cut taxes and increased spending...

and now that the chickens have come home to roost, the Tea Partiers act surprised and look around for who is to blame.

You might want to re-read this....

"Maybe if you didnt come across so snooty and cold people might experience you in a way that didnt feel like a talking proud scouring pad."

It goes both ways ya know[8|]

But what is the desired outcome of this movement?

How many would applaud a repeal of SS or Medicare?

i second that.

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Tea Party Misconceptions... (5/24/2010 7:45:57 AM)

By now there is no denying that the movement is waking people up. Spector is gone, and Reid, and McCain are holding on by a thread. Only a liberal would still believe they are not having an impact. We also have about 150 House Reps who were willing to vote for the Public health care option which was definitely unconstitutional, even when it included abortion and illegal aliens. I would estimate half of those reps will soon be gone.

Anyone who follows Obama now will go down with the ship.

No, they aren't--they're giving moderate Republicans the headache.

This is the best thing that could have happened for Democrats--send a bunch of ideologues to November.

It will mitigate what could have been an angry sweep. Now even angry voters will have to swallow hard and reconsider incumbents.

Based upon the threads you have started recently, your positions and inability to back up what you claim, your argumentative nature and your refusal to address any rebuttals to your rants....

you can ask for your own appology.

TreasureKY -> RE: Tea Party Misconceptions... (5/24/2010 8:41:41 AM)

Thank you, Tazzy.  [:)]

We have some very intelligent and articulate men and women here on the boards.  Whether we agree or not, I always appreciate those who are willing to actually discuss and share ideas rather than resort to pot shots and intimidation tactics.

You make some very valid points, AR.  I don't disagree that we've all ended up with precisely what we've asked for, and collectively we have no one to blame but ourselves.

I just can't fault the tea partiers for wanting to change things.  True, they won't be able to offer any true options until they are organized, have a plan and decent leadership.  But right now they are giving some people a rallying point... people who are dissatisfied but would have otherwise just stayed on the sidelines, feeling disenfranchised by both the Democrats and the Republicans.

This is a very real possibility and an outcome that would be most undesirable.  The problem is, just how do you please everybody?  How do you bake a single great cake when you have three bakers, each with a different idea to go about it and not one of them willing to work with the other two?
