When I typed that it was with the vague (and, I now realise, false) memory that you didn't have a facepic. I thought that all the world could see was a bunch of flowers.

I just looked-you's purty too

Edited because I'm *tired*.

My face is on my profile. I decided to use the flowers here because i didnt want my looks, one way or another, to interfere with the debates. Most people who attack dont bother to look at profiles.

I would just like to know if I am a snide or a snark. Are we lining up on teams? Who wears the vests? If my team does, I need a big one then. I have a lotta plushness to cover. Oh, do they come in V-neck? I like to show a little cleavage now and then.

Oh, and that explains why gays are bad at sports, too.

If you think the level of discourse on this site is lacking, take a look at bondage.com.

It'll make your hair catch on fire.  The same 5 guys slagging each other in the opinion threads.

To supportourtroops, if you're still around...

Is this charity the one you were trying to set up last year, under someone else's 501(c)3 as an umbrella?

Thanks for the heads up, i'm sure that that's equally as tedious to witness. I like my hair, so, i'll probably refrain from getting involved in something that would cause it to frazzle. i dont have the right shaped head to rock the bald look.

I have stopped reading most threads on this website for the reasons I have already stated.   You really have no idea how many times i have thought a thread title sounded interesting and I've decided to read and then give up when you lot all jump on the OP for whatever reason. It really is tiresome. This website should be called "mean girls".  I am sure I am not alone in thinking this, but im sure most people dont feel like standing up to an army. I will not waste my breath by complaining to the head bully, Video Admin Alpha, or whatever you clones are calling him/her.  I would purport this to be a futile action.  I have found another website where tolerance is practised and will spend my time there. I am sure I am not alone in doing this either. I just felt today I had to say something about this particular thread, I really was astounded at some of the comments. I think the administrator is displaying an attitude that is causing a trickle effect on all of you. so it is no wonder the atmosphere turned so violent so quickly. it seems it is encouraged.

You have been reading for a while and yet you joined the 20th??

VAA, I had been reading for a while with under a different profile. Someone else has already pointed out this is not my first one. If they know this and are not admin, im sure you are aware too.

I certainly agree that the OP has significant deficiencies that have already been clearly addressed.  Violating the terms of service that you agreed to when you signed up and then expressing outrage in a vitriolic but only semi literate fashion when called on it is very likely to cause this response.  Effectively, you covered yourself in steak sauce and then walked into a lion's den to kick it in the nose.  Complaining because you were severely bitten as a consequence of your actions is unlikely to earn a huge amount of personal sympathy.

But she's right about one thing.  The social dynamics being depicted here can be quite accurately described as "mean girls".  It is an in-group affirmation of social norms via the rejection, shaming and mocking of behavior that is not group-appropriate.  Because a site representative has participated in the humorous in-group banter, and because the shaming and mocking posts are not themselves being moderated, this dynamic can be clearly perceived.

On the one hand, such responses to socially inappropriate behavior are a deterrent, and some degree of moderator response is logistically necessary.  On the other hand, the culture of "mean girls" and in-group dynamics (or the perception thereof) and shaming or mocking has its own effect on the atmosphere.  This may or may not be desirable, depending on what you need to achieve.  The behavioral deterrent may be desirable enough that the other consequences of group perception of this dynamic are worthwhile.

Don't misinterpret what I'm saying as a criticism of anyone other than the OP.  I am not in the least bit sympathetic to people who kick lions and complain when they get mauled.  Social Darwinism worked brilliantly on Usenet, and there's no reason it shouldn't work on Collarme.  But folks should be aware that this is what is happening.
