President polk starting the mexican american war because mexico would not sell the u.s. california?
President eisenhower sending marine aviation to give the french air support at dien bien phu?
President johnson faking the tonkin gulf "attack"?
President nixon sending common criminals to steal from his political rivals?President wilson going to war to make money for the rich.
President roosevelt allowing the bombing of pearl harbor.
President ford pardoning ex-president nixon for any crimes he may have committed?
President ragun making illegal contact with iran to trade war material to iran for the hostages?
President bush starting a war in the sand box based on lies?

Arpaio asking someone to apologize for inappropriate remarks?

How laughable, the good sheriff has never been able to open his mouth without putting both feet in it.

Their was nothing inappropriate in the ad to apologize for, it was a satirical tourism ad but Arpaio likes to get his face in the news every chance he gets.

I dunno, there are people who believe that.

It would be nice if our country would stop applying bandaids and get down to working on some long-term, workable, and humane immigration reform.

Obama is doing this because there is a lot of pressure for it.  I hope it does not get ugly.

I saw this on the news earlier today and I knew what the reactions would be.

Even though conservatives have been beating the drum about this for months there was no doubt in my mind that it would be met with some type of criticism.

Bush did very damn little, to help protect our borders.

Did I read in that article that we are out gunned in protecting our own borders?

Well this is a step in the right direction.

Here is a MzMia prediction:
IF some of our troops/and or border patrol get killed by someone in the Mexican drug/gun cartels, with all this attention on the situation now, we will REALLY see some big changes going on down there.

Status: offline 		I love it that they are sending the troops to help secure our borders.    We have a long history of doing that.   Nothing new.   Well maybe.   We don't have a cavalry on horseback now and the infantry doesn't walk ALL the time now.   lol   And with ICE not going to necessarily enforce our immigration laws (http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2010/05/19/20100519arizona-immigration-law-ICE-chief-opposes.html) then what the heck, someone has to do the job and it has been left up to AZ and the Department of Defense.

Rule, and it's not just conservatives beating the drum, Independants and many Democrats are too!
This is one of the things our govt. is charged with doing and they've been failing at it for the last thirty years!
