That is what I've always done.
As for the tongue, I'm not big on lots of tongue, at least not in the beginning, and especially not that darting spastic electric eel out of water kind of tongue. Ewww.

It needs a slow, smouldering build up, lips brushing against one another, little nips, breathing, more brushing, my hands clenching his neck tie or shirt collar, pulling him to me, essentially, setting the pace, and if he gets too eager, slowing him down, backing away and smiling, leaving him hanging, then slowly starting up again, winding him up like a little toy, building his desire to want to kiss me deeper, but letting him know that he will can't, at least not until I'm ready for him too.
That's how I own the kisses.
Edited to add: this was a fast-reply to the OP and I didn't see that she had written so much on this thread. But of course, I see it in a very similar manner and I'm not surprised ;-)
