So, the hard question, then.........what are the chances that Obamas transcripts are hiding say-----------to be absolutely rock bottom here based on your actual knowledge of your setting and your erudite knowledge of the uni educational system ----

what are the chances that barry hussein obama is hiding something as reprehensible as a c+ in an advanced degree class that led to his being installed as a professor of constitutional law at Harvard university?

Impossible. He'd have to have at least a B average, or he wouldn't have graduated (at least that's how it works at SUNY).

He's a pretty sharp guy. I'd bet he excelled. Certainly his position as President of the Harvard Law Review suggests this.

Academia, though, would be concerned with his accomplishments afterward. A degree is a starting place; it's a "what are you researching/publishing now" kind of business. Past achievements count, but they won't help your career.

Additionally, Harvard hires academic stars. Mere professional competency isn't going to get anyone a faculty position there.

ETA: There's a glut of PhDs (and JDs), so these teaching positions are highly competitive. At SUNY, the faculty come from around the globe. At schools like Harvard, all the more competitive. And by all accounts, Obama is a brilliant scholar.

And to think that William F. Buckley only taught spanish at Yale.

He's gotta be hiding something.....we should drop everything...because this is the most important thing in the world.....behind the birth certificate thing

I mean; looks to me like in this situation he is sorta intimating a 'Fuck you, you slobbering cretins, get a life' sort of stance to these hard hitting questions.

I think "No-drama Obama" has realized the wisdom of Eisenhower's "Don't get into a pissing match with a skunk."

If someone wants to be president it isn't a stretch to ask that person to lay all of his or her cards on the table. Not just Dem cndidatess, any candidate.

We should vet our presidential candidates more thoroughly prior to handing them the nuclear football and the keys to the White House, and the Pentagon, and Air Force One.

Really?

Did Bush ever lay all his cards on the table about his absences from the Guard?

Yet Lincoln had no experince. Neither did JFK. Both were leaders in the true sense of the word. Both achieved amazing things during their presidencies, unless im recalling history wrong.

All officers in the military have executive experience.

Most of them have a shitload more executive experience than "Maverick" McCain and his sore arse, though. You know, if they spent their service career actually serving, rather than as a POW.

Why's this become such a big issue?  Have all presidents released their transcripts?  This is getting stranger than fiction.

The only reason my employer wanted transcripts was to prove I had requisite degrees.  Not to meet some GPA requirement.

We're not  discussing me or you, we're discussing someone who is asking to be president. Think logically, take off your DNC issued blinders for a second, and ask yourself what high level job does not require serious applicants to disclose their academic records?

Its not his private life its his academic record, something that we should expect to see if he wants us to trust him with that position.

My acedemic record isnt open to just anyone either. Is yours?

As i stated, unless you have proof, then its not your business. Its not my business. The school itself states he has standing there. Harvard Law Review states he had standing there. Im not sure what your point is in wanting to see those records? If its to prove he went, you have that proof.

The remark about "Butch Kagan" really pisses me off.  I'm 51, never been married, am built like a brick shithouse, have done "macho" sports like martial arts, and am heterosexual.

What do you guys want, endorsements from hetero bed partners?

There's a line in Ghostbusters that goes somethiing like:

"I've been to the real world. They want results there"

Many of us warned of the utter foolishness of hiring a man with no executive experience, no real legislative experience, zero history of getting things done in a bipartisan manner. Some/many/most of those who ignored those arguments even though they should have known better are coming around. Even some who fell as deeply and inexplicably into the Botank asPeggy Noonan.

Hell he even published less opinions than his supreme court nominee Butch Kagan.

Exactly. I graduated with honors, but no one gives a shit, now or then. They just wanted official proof of the degrees.

Why rely on luck when choosing our leaders? Things are so bad that randomly selecting complete unknowns out of the phone book would probably provide people better suited to lead, and its time for change we can really believe in. Just putting some random activist who can read pretty (but hollow and meaningless) speeches off of a teleprompter in power is a bad idea...

We need to start checking them out first. Did they torture small animals as children? "Oh, we can't ask that, thats personal information... "

Pfft.

I say comb through their lives with fine toothed combs and post everything thats found on the Internet.

Say, what's this obsession with teleprompters?  They've been used by all presidents, and Bush 43 in particular could barely speak coherently unless he was using a teleprompter.  I've never seen folks rant about teleprompters for other presidents.

You'd think every word out of his mouth was from a teleprompter...like that televised round table with the Republicans.

It's because the conservative talking heads have to find something to fill up their air time so they create issues out of thin air that some don't bother to research on their own.

We need to start? Why havent you been calling for this all along?

Bet we both know why.

Would you have voted for Bush if you knew he was a coke head before the election?
