Considering what passes for "leather" in certain parts of Los Angeles, yarn would be a significant improvement.

Speak for yourself, Dude.  I'm keeping the corsets and the boots.

Even more so, when you have doubts as to what kind of animal the leather comes from.

I still think there is awesome information here and I stand behind my begging too!

mmmmmm indeed information eloquently expressed has caused me to pause... either that or it was the groveling like a slut possesed that has my attention ;)

I just might have to reconsider this yarn thing... with little more begging of course!

Yes please Knights let your devoted and pretty Kyra to knit to her hearts content. She neeeeeeeds to knit, it keeps her well balanced and healthy, just the way you like her. She would only adore you all the more. She trusts you implicitly and you have proven to her she can trust you.

You have heard the case, it makes really good sense. It brings her great pleasure and she didnt even question your arbitrary decision because she is such a good girl. Let your good girl knit.

Imagine the pleasure it would stir in her knowing her forbidden hobby would now be allowed. She is free! Free at last! You can see how that would be a really deepened experience when you lift the ban. Each stitch she knits another loop of love for you. You can see it cant you? I think it is wise Knights.

Please let her knit. Knights? May I ask you a question?

I may? Thank you.

Will you please let your Kyra knit to her hearts content with your full blessing?

I dont have a problem with it at all, (kind of confused about your post, feel maybe a misunderstanding somewhere?) I am a big fan of the colorful fabric of the boards. I have learned many things here directly, indirectly.

No worries, heartcream!  Your post about coming here for advice springboarded some of my own thoughts about what I have taken away from the boards, sans asking for particular advice about something.  Sorry for any confusion.

yeah, the term slave is quite a hot-button issue for some people. i think personally that if it works for the people involved, then it works for them lol. :) personally i think that for me, sub is the way to go. but I have also Dommed before too so I try to keep an open mind that lables arent everything, or if they are meaningful, meaningful in differmet ways to different people

So, let's suppose that you were in some sort of Buddhist cult.
In this period you weren't able to get in contact with any non-Buddhist philosophies and religions, such as Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, Judaism, Western Philosophy etc.

The problem with cults is that most of them are full of shit and most of them use some sort of brainwashing.
All the religions that are secure about themselves will not prohibit reading materials that can challenge their views. It's up to you to believe or not.
If they restrict you from any information you are not able to make fully informed decisions.

You know, SN, you know nothing about me, my path, or my journey. You are quick to spout the "company line", promote fearmongering and ignorance all while purporting to champion "freedom of information" -- but how much does that "information" mean if it is nothing to us but yet another clamoring of noise, bombarding our senses and bouncing off into nothingness without leaving any impact upon our lives?

I've voluntarily embraced several challenges in my life, from entering the Illuminance Fellowship monastery to sort out what 'spirituality', 'religion', 'esoterics', 'prayer' and 'magic' meant to -me- to voluntarily living as an indentured servant in an M/s dynamic to learn my way around authority-dynamics from the inside out. I've been pierced (both temporary and permanent) and tattooed, danced, dreamed, and moved between worlds. I've yielded control of my every action and breath to others and I've kept others for whom I've tended to both the macroscopic realms and the minutiae of their lives. I've lived in the midst of the world and worked and mainstreamed, and I've voluntarily separated myself from the world for not just a moment, but for years, so that I could differentiate what is important from what is nothing but clamor and crash... or, to quote Shakespeare... what is nothing more than the "sound and fury... signifying nothing".

Perhaps, rather than expounding, as a mere observer, on those things which you do not understand, perhaps it would serve you to experience them... then, perhaps, you might have some perspective beyond your fear from which to speak.

Calla

If your Master wanted this, would you accept to never again in your life be allowed to see the second most important person in your life (after Master) whoever he/she is:
- for example: your mother, your father, your best and dearest friend, you dearest son or daughter (giving them to be adopted, for example), your sister, your brother, etc.
not just any of them, but exactly the one you love the most, and the one that is most dear and important to you

If the answer is "Yes", I would like you to explain me why.

Yes. Two reasons. The most important is because a vow of obedience is a very serious thing to make, and before I give that commitment to someone I think of all the things it could possibly mean or require from me, and if I wasn't Ok with doing those things for that person I would not accept his control. So of course, I've thought of this possibility, any thinking slave would. If he were the right person for me, obeying him would be more important than anything else, including this. Milage varies but I only do master/slave (I love those words, by the way, and will continue to use them because I love them), and this is my personal reality.

The second reason has to do with the fact that it's all a matter of perspective (i.e. there's always something worse/or something better). To me, a requirement such as the one you propose is in the "getting off lightly" zone. If I had surrendered my will to him, it would mean that I trusted him to make all decisions regarding me, and I would trust him in this area as well. As for what could be worse? Being deprived of HIS, my master's, presence. I've experienced that in a couple of different ways. It's not easy, but humans are adaptable, and I have managed. What made one of these situations bearable was being aware that even this is his will. The other situation was not a matter of will and I do not know how I bore it: he died, and I came close to breaking. (shrug) For some reason I didn't, although I got dangerously close.

It was a very welcome hijack from my perspective. :) It was nice to see it among all the serious talk, which I am slowly but steadily plowing through. I had been intrigued by that stick as well.

Better still, somebody unplug his computer.

I'm not picking on you in particular, but I want to make a general point and your post provides the perfect jumping off spot. What I don't understand about this thread is all this victim-speak. You and others act like the only way for you not to hear SocratesNot is to have him do something, like not post or unplug his Internet. You give him all the power. You act like he is holding a gun to your head forcing you to read this thread, or like it is some flashing advertisment on a webpage that is truly terrible but that you can't avoid seeing because it's to the right of the email you have to read.

But none of you, not a single one of you has to click on this thread and read a word. You. Choose. To. Yes, certainly, you can try to make it his fault by claiming you only came here to listen to Simply Micheal and a few other posters, but again, nobody is actually shouting in your ears. It's mostly controllable--on your end. You've got the mute button on the remote. All you have do is click the little HIDE icon for a poster whose comments you cannot stand and boom! 60% more quiet. Surely most adults have the self-control to pass up the other 40% (people responding to him and quoting him) by just not reading those posts? If not, you ought not to be over-exciting your fragile little selves by reading threads like this, don't you think? If you were to do all of this normal self-regulatory behavior then the rest of us who don't give a damn about how frequently this person posts do not have to listen to YOUR obnoxious incessant sarcastic bitching and whining about it! YAY! Win for All! Really folks, I've had to block so many of you for this bad behavior over the last few months, that I think half the regular posters are in my ignore bucket at the moment. :/ I'd rather not have to raise that percentage any higher--although I will have to if you keep up this childish behavior.

It's simple. This is not rocket science. Ignore what you don't like, enjoy what you do. The forum tools are here to help you--although a little personal self-control could go a very long way in this matter.

If I could circle this I would. This subject comes up frequently at the other place. Followed by the inevitable loss of limbs and other extremities. What I appreciate most about your response is the consideration given before the yes. Which included a serious weighing of variable what ifs you might encounter in the relationship.

I don't think either are easy to explain. While deprivation is something most can relate to in some way, the absence that you address is a hurt that has no comparison in my mind. I have hurt and endured things that made me ache but that loss is in a class of its own. I have never forgotten the shrill cry or the screams that followed.

If slavery is bullshit then why does it exist ... ?

The slaves I would like to find are not being found. NOT because they do not exist but rather they exist in another 'space' than where I am at now - in short we're not crossing paths and seeing each other; or not recognizing the really we each have and fully connecting. YES I am an optimist and still I am tremendously fristrated for a man who has had to searched for 19 years.
