Remember those stories about the Cadillac welfare mothers? Check this one out!

A Cerritos woman was due in court Friday after being arrested in a massive welfare fraud sweep for receiving more than $60,000 in welfare benefits while allegedly concealing her ownership of a business, home and Maserati sports car.

They should put her ass behind bars.....Wait! That would cost the taxpayers an additional 40-50k a year.

Can she live in a shelter and work for free for the next ten years? Lots of oil and garbage to clean up.

I saw in the article that another woman was apprehended as well....

"Another of those arrested and charged, Alicia Garcia, 51, also is accused of major fraud. She was charged with one count of false statements to receive healthcare, three counts of aid by misrepresentation and four counts of perjury by false application for aid.

Garcia allegedly received more than $136,000 in public assistance benefits from January 2002 to April 2010."

It would be wonderful to see them have to work it off.

Rich, I agree with DG, they should put their thieving asses to work. That's a lot of money that could have helped someone in earnest need.

$136,000/99months = $1,373 per month.
If I were hustling dead aluminum cans that is about a pound a day...bitch is obviously livin' large on the tax payers nickle.
How much did adm get in subsidies last year?
Yeah lets chase down all dem scheeming bitches and leave bill gates and ted turnover alone.

tazzygirl -> RE: Forget the Cadillac (5/28/2010 6:56:46 PM)

Apples to oranges. No fraud should ever be ignored, on any level.

Well if you sent her to california we could incarcerate her for a mear $23,000 per year for her $14,000 per year crime.

Would you not agree that if you have a limited enforcement budget and limited jail facilities that one should concentrate on the larger larcenies?
Kinda like chasing down misdemeanor illegal aliens and ignoring the felony employers. It would seem that the pragamatic sanction of which gives you the most return on your investment would guide your priorities. That is if your priority is the reduction of fraud.

TheHeretic -> RE: Forget the Cadillac (5/28/2010 7:50:28 PM)

I think the way we ought to be addressing this is through routine data-mining for welfare recipients. When you go on aid, you sign a form giving them permission to do it. You get to pee in a cup whenever they hand it to you, too.

A fucking Maserati, DG. She should do an extra 18 months for sheer cuntery.

Brain -> RE: Forget the Cadillac (5/28/2010 7:50:30 PM)

I don’t agree with that approach. I think they need to invest in resources to catch everyone committing any fraud. This requires a zero-tolerance policy.

tazzygirl -> RE: Forget the Cadillac (5/28/2010 8:12:46 PM)

Exactly Brain. I just wish thompson had one (brain that is).

pahunkboy -> RE: Forget the Cadillac (5/29/2010 2:48:04 AM)

Why not take her to Disneyland?

tazzygirl -> RE: Forget the Cadillac (5/29/2010 4:54:42 AM)

It's $1,373 per month that she was not entitled too. Every agency should police their own and be rewarded for removing the fraud.

I am huge proponent of a medicare type program covering all of the citizens of this country. You remove the fraud and so much of this becomes possible.

You didn't read the article did you? This happened in CA.

So you believe we should just ignore crimes if the profit is below a certain level? How much can I steal from your house before you think the law should come after me?

Just steal his stuff under a value of $400.  But you can rob him every year up to $400, as long as it isn't a firearm, a chicken, horse or goat, one of his cheaper koi fish, some piece of crap vehicle or anything he's carrying on his person.   You can take all the loose change in the Sparkletts water bottle.  He won't care.  You're not big enough to worry about.

It's probably close to $1373/mo times 12,000,000.

Yes, I really do think illegal immigration costs this country more than a trillion per year.

Please tell me what part of limited did you not understand.
How does the above equate with aproving of fraud.
