I didnt see the show

Status: offline 		i know im biased but i honestly think the Irish song was one of the best. it was definitely a top five song not a bottom five song, it just goes to show those who judge Eurovision do not have a clue about taste in music

that's a good joke...whilst I have to admit that I do not remember that many entrances from the UK I do remember the one with the stuardesses which was certainly not a winner song

And last year Norway was a good winning son IMO, so there again I would not say that the UK was good enough to win either...

Hmm, I am not sure you can deny the fact that the UK has more presence in the world in terms of music than any other place in europe.

I don't think the UK was good enough to win this year, I thought it was poor but not a loosing song, and the year before I thought it was a really fab eurovision song (there is a difference between a eurovision song and a regular song) but again the votes arent for the music, and the UK aint particularly popular

I was sort of half watching....

The French one caught my eye as the entire song seemed to consist of one world......Allez!

The Armenia or was it the Azerbajan song was worth watching for the singer alone.....you don't see many of those round these parts.....

The Norwegian presenter was more than likely on some serious hardcore drugs........and when he interviewed the German singer it was one of those moments where you're just looking at the telly baffled and amused....both of them definitely not a full shilling.....she was bouncing around like a cat on hot coals and he looked like he'd just rubbed a load of coke on his gums and come speeding out of the toilets.....

I don't know why we bother to enter.....we think it's a joke and they don't like us for thinking it's a joke when it's a big thing for them.....why don't we just pull out of the thing.....and pull out of the EU while we're on....and just be done with it....

I thought some of them were better than usual......though that's not saying much...seem to remember the Romanian one being half decent.....and the Belgian one?

Cyprus and Greece true to form.......I don't know why they bother having judges......they may as well just send a note in 6 months in advance: "Cyprus 12 points".

Seem to remember the only judge who didn't speak in English was the French judge.....gotta love the French for being the only ones determined to not be overrun by the English language.....

which isn't that difficult considering that english is being understood by many in other countries whereas spanish, greece, french, italien etc. is less known...

some years ago we had some activities going on back home where music producers and musicians tried to enforce that less english music is being played in the radio channels back home as a) we have many german groups which are popular back home who should be supported to be heard instead more often and b) instead of just feeding the folks with far too much english music some musicians also tried to encourage that more music from other countries is being played back home...so more german music back into the channels but also more music from other european countries then just the english ones...but I think at some point it then was stopped and not continued...but I agreed with many of these musicians that it is ridicoulus how much english music is being played at home at most radio senders...as there is simply more out there than just english music. At home about 95% of my music was not english as I do like the music being played back home.

Apart from that the laughter wasn't against the british music industry in general...more against them being that great at the eurovision.

Nope absolutely nothing, we have all been in hibernation a little like the Silurian

Also Peanut, Two things, Ellen didn't say the UK was good at Eurovision because we aren't but that is partly due to music being the last thing that Eurovision is about, and German bands can sing in English if that is the only barrier for them, if people wanted to listen to German singing then they would, it isn't much of an argument really

which again wasn't the point...folks at home listen to other music as most people do listen to what they prefer, but the attempt which has been made was to challenge the radio stations to play less english music in the first place and simply to represent more music from other countries as well...after all there is no need to play approx. 85% english music on the channels back home. Apart from that as I said it was not just about "German music" but about music from other countries too...all they did was to raise awareness (and to try to challenge) that situation that it was and is ridicoulus how much english music is represented on a daily basis on our radio channels back home, is no need for such a huge amount, as there is other good music out there (and I do listen to music from other languages as well, as eg adriano celentano was quite popular at home to be played at the stations at times with his song azzurro or musicians such as Gianna Nannini)

so that example was NOT about just playing German music.

And in regards to "wanted to listen", if that would only be the case then more other music would be in the radios as quite frankly after all they also play what they get paid for to play as their politics is a bit different then only to listen to what the consumer at home would like to hear...so if you think that so much english is just being played because it would be so great, there would be no alternative and that would be purely customer choice....then that's rather ridicioulus...
