Several years ago, I had a dinner date with a prospective sub at a Chinese restaurant near my house. He held a professional position and sounded very impressive in e-mail and on the phone. While I ate dinner, he ordered and downed four sakis. He had also ordered a bowl of soup that he didn't touch. During the dinner he kept telling me how cute and adorable I was, to the point where it was getting nauseating. At the end of the evening, he gave me a dopey expression and asked me to take him to my car and hurt him real bad. I told him I would do nothing of the sort, hurried to my car, and drove off. I was planning to just send him an e-mail the next day telling him off, and then blocking him. I had given him a number to call for one reason and one reason only. I had told him not to ever call that number for any other purpose. He had a business meeting earlier in the day and was not sure if he could make our dinner. I told him to call that number, leave a message as to whether he could make it or not, and I would call to retrieve messages to know if I should go home from work or go to meet him at the restaurant. Well, he called that number at 1:30 A.M. and woke me up. I told him off then and there, blocked him from calling me, blocked him from e-mailing me, and that was that.
