I do not support the Israeli embargo on Gaza in its current form. However, in this action, the naval infantry were lightly armed with only pistols and encountered fierce resistance. The ship, while in international seas, was within the Israeli economic zone which by treaty most nations recognize to be a legitimate area to enforce an embargo. This is a fiasco. I supported Isreal in the past, but not now. The Palestinians are too weak to warrant this kind of draconian measures. That said, it's not all black and white--you ran a military blockade and refuse to cease and desist after being boarded, you should expect to receive fire. Ditto for Israel: if you blockade, you will have to be prepared to shoot people and justify it to the international community, right now they are doing a poor job. Israel's capability has been showing worrying signs of erosion since their last invasion of Lebanon, IMHO.
