That was not venom babe.  But you are so cute.  Now get me some coffee.

It's interesting that you denied my characterization of your tone without addressing the substance of my criticism. It's almost like . . . you agreed?

To compare homosexual marriage to torture and murder isn't venomous. I think I will go with... clownish. I guess to some people, allowing homosexuals any kind of happiness or pleasure is akin to being tortured. Well, that's their own damned business. Leave the gays alone.

Umm. . . NO.

As I stated, there is no such thing as a right to the pursuit of happiness in law.  It is a from a segment of the Declaration of Independence.  And if you would spend the time to rub your two brain cells togeather you would know that it is a reference to Locke.  The pursuit of happiness is "constant determiniaton."

From Garry Wills, Inventing America, "Within its original rich context, the pursuit of happiness is a phenomenon both obvious and paradoxical. It supplies us with the ground of human right and the goal of human virtue. It is the basic drive of the self, and the only means given for transcending the self."

Maybe you think that's funny, but the last thing I need is some mischievous boy trying to give me the creeps.  [8|]

And it's REALLY interesting how you responded to me by criticizing another poster, who mistook the "pursuit of happiness" to be protected by the constitution, rather than being exhorted in the declaration, rather than addressing the substance of my criticism. It's almost like . . . you have nothing to say in response to ME?

Okay, let me break it down for you.  There is no protected right to the pursuit of happiness.  If there was, then that could be the defense used for all sorts of crimes.  They were done in the pursuit of the individual's happiness.

Marriage may be consensual, however it is not always legal.  Just like rape and embezzlement are not legal.  Same-sex couple getting married cannot use the right of the pursuit of happiness as justification for breaking the law.

You are no Paul Newman.

Let me break it down for YOU. I'm a fucking expert in this area; I know the declaration, I know the constitution, and I know the difference. I did not claim there was a right to the pursuit of happiness, but I did claim that you were full of venom towards a poor, ignorant girl, which you are.

Perhaps I believe that as what is consensual is ethical, it should also be legal. Perhaps you have a narrow fucking mind a an overblown sense of your own authority.

Chill with the personal attacks from this moment.

I am for it. Though I would say the ABA will be the real beneficiary since with Marriage comes Divorce.
