Jesus was a socialist, who lived in olden times
He told the people how to live, in Roman Palestine
“Be nice to one another” and “’specially to the poor”
He’d preach it to them everywhere and then he’d preach some more
“Do not store up treasure”, and “turn the other cheek”
“Give to him who asks of you” and “blessed are the meek”
The Romans didn’t like it, the Jews they liked it less
“You’d better shut it Jesus, if you know what’s best”
But Jesus he continued to preach a selfless path
Until the PTB, enraged, succumbed unto their wrath
And tried him as a criminal, although it truly seemed
He’d only called in question the Roman-Jewish Dream™
And all the stuff the people had been told they should believe
Even though as plain as day this stuff was to deceive
And so they nailed him to a cross to show the people well
What should happen to them if they disbelieved the spell

Let's see if some intellectual honesty exists on the Left of the CollarMe now that Sister Nancy is being moved by the same God and Word that moved George W Bush.

Fair is fair...So I followed the link and discovered this is what Nanci is quoted as saying...
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says she believes she must pursue public policies "in keeping with the values" of Jesus Christ, "The Word made Flesh."

In other words, they plucked a fragment of a sentence out of something else and framed it with a bunch of their own interpretation. And of course, they didn't get any follow up.
Here is the other part:

May 6 Catholic Community Conference on Capitol Hill, the speaker said: “They ask me all the time, ‘What is your favorite this? What is your favorite that? What is your favorite that?’ And one time, ‘What is your favorite word?’ And I said, ‘My favorite word? That is really easy. My favorite word is the Word, is the Word. And that is everything. It says it all for us. And you know the biblical reference, you know the Gospel reference of the Word.”

“And that Word,” Pelosi said, “is, we have to give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the values of the Word. The Word. Isn’t it a beautiful word when you think of it? It just covers everything. The Word.

“Fill it in with anything you want. But, of course, we know it means: ‘The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.’ And that’s the great mystery of our faith. He will come again. He will come again. So, we have to make sure we’re prepared to answer in this life, or otherwise, as to how we have measured up.”

I couldn't find the full quote anywhere- the full quote where she says the gummint must abolish the 1st Amendment and institute a Talibangelical theocracy.
So maybe if someone can do some more asture googling, we can have a discussion about it.

But for the record, I am not in favor of anyone basing laws on anything other than a consensus of shared values, religious or not.

Why... History is full of examples of female Kings.

Would you be so kind as to list them for the erudition of us all?

What is this... an attempt to show me up or are you seriously doubting that women have the capicty to rule as a king? Rather sexist of you is it not?

When females rule they are called queen or empress not king nor emperor...it is called rules of grammar.

I mean clearly you have already looked it up on the internet so you know female kings, existed and ruled so I must ask what is the point of your post?

The point is that they are not kings...I was under the impression that you spoke english.

So then E.,

We have both separation of church and state,- as well as not having separation of church and state?

What happens when this gospel changes to say- the religion of Global Warming?

Which brings me to un-alienable rights. the state can never be god- and thus can not give more more rights.

Pelosi is not god- (shock) and she is miserable example of state to boot.

Is it reasonable Pa to believe in any way shape or form that whatever constitutional protections there might be or might be imagined that a representative will not determine their conduct on the basis of their religious values?

Any representative who professed to have religious values and then did not apply them to their conduct in representing their constituents would be revealed as an imposter and a blasphemer.

Religious values, whether we like it or not, whether they are drawn from one or more or no recognised forms of religion are values which necessarily inform social and thence political outlooks. This interaction is such a key and fundamental aspect of religious values that it cannot be divorced from conduct, whether as a citizen or as his representative.

If the electorate would prefer not to have representatives who conduct themselves according to espoused religious values - should such a thing be possible - then they must be more careful in whom they select on the ballot paper.

George Stephanopolous already nailed her to the cross on abortion on national tv. I forget the exact conversation, but she basically said that abortion is a better method of population control than enforcing our immigration laws. I wonder why she believes that. Is it because dead babies don't vote, but illegal aliens who receive amnesty will?

I have an excellent ability to read facial expressions, and what I saw in George's face was disbelief.

I think I saw something somewhere, sometime, but I really don't remember.

Can you read my facial expression?

No, it's not bizarre at all.

What is your version of Christianity?

Let those that can do and those that cannot perish?

E.

You miss the point.

Pelosi DOES push her views on the "I deem this passed" country.

The method of attribution is mute- as she thinks she is king.

Until she grows a cock and balls she is going to have to settle for being queen

Second (or third?) in line for the Presidency and she has to "settle" for being a queen? I'm sure she wakes up daily saying, "Oh woe is me!!"

Rule, where do you get that Jesus was a socialist? That he was a political leader, advocating a paticular political ideology? Thats bizzare, and not based on anything in the Bible.

Thompson, nice to see you are still obsessing on me and my words. Glad to see they have such a profound effect on you.

Now despite the fact that you are a lying coward, I will give you an answer (even though you are scared to answer my questions, and are such a dolt you can't comprehend what you read, whats the life span of Pygmies??).

I reject the Nicine creed and special divinity of Christ (who is also known as the Krishna of the west). Christ was the Son of God, but so am I and you.

As I was brought up in a christian household, when I imagine the divine, It gets a face and some characteristics of Jesus. Its a residual cultural effect.

I think durring the missing 30 years of Jesus' life, he travelled to see the wise men of the east (Bhuddists and Hindus) and actually was a bhudist. The sermon on the mount seems (to me) to be teachign bhudism.

I could go on for a while, but this is a trollish Hijack by T, where he, again, wants to make it about me. As he is not able to talk about topics, just other posters.

Obviously Jesus was a socialist.  He did collect the food from those who had and divided it among those who had not.

You think maybe if he was doing the leading God could have cued George in on the fact that there were not actually any weapons of mass destruction?
