Have you considered cycling underwear ? Underwear that can be worn under your normal wear, it comes with padding in the vulnerable places to prevent or at least lessen the seat to body contact interface. There are normal padded variants available and even ones with gel inserts, which a long distance cyclist I know says is like sitting on a silicone breast implant, how he came to that similarity I will never know, but a man who shaves his legs and wears lycra that does not leave too much to the imagination I just have to wonder at. Or you could just forego the padded underwear and wear proper cycling shorts, or even both if you like. But as to cycling, cycling technology has moved on a bit now, for seats are available for both male and female personages, each having various cut outs and extra padded areas for each anatomy. As to the old saddle sores, just ointment and let the area heal/toughen up.
