This is a problem. The self identified conservatives here have no idea what a liberal is, what a liberal policy is or what liberal values might be. This was more than amply demonstrated last week when upon invite they were each unable to risk as much as a comment on my thread for fear of being laughed off the boards for not knowing what it is theyre against. E

Liberal values = idealism Conservative values = darwinism Conservative values to me represent the "id" aspect of humanity while liberal values represent the "superego" aspect of humanity. There are times for the ego to go primal and times for the ego to go moral, taking one or the other to the extreme will likely end in disaster.

I can't quite see the relationship between conservatism, which is inherently static insofar as it seeks to conserve the best of what we have already accomplished. That said, I'm a big fan of your tone.

Well, a good source informs me that liberals are pukes and socialists are pukes - logically therefore liberals are socialists. Sorry. I may not be pulling off devil's advocate very well on this one; force of habit, logic and rounded consideration of the facts of a situation do get in the way on this one. E
