No, not an urban myth in my experience. When I was looking I would get a stereotypical on your knees bitch message here and there and I will get one once in a blue moon now even though I've changed my profile to read that I am collared. There are a lot of men out there with poor social skills and the internet appeals to these men...they don't have to get any better at it. They think it might be just that easy....to say on your knees and voila ! they've got a woman. I used to be rather courteous and explain that no, I wasn't going for that or I'd just delete the message but if I get one now I mess with the guy or tell him how stupid his approach is. If you are interested in this type of thing there are a couple of old threads on silly emails that people on here have gotten...they are a hoot to read.

My response was "Don't hold your breath... On second thought do, I'll get back to you in a few days". I think the best one I ever got was the guy demanding that I take my profile down because my "ad don't need to be here" (his words not mine). LOL I haven't gotten as many lately, but I still get emails from submissives who want to serve me, or Doms that want to "own" me, despite the fact that my profile clearly states that I'm sub/slave and that I'm owned. I'm grateful they make themselves so obvious to ignore. It's the 10% who are smart and patient and actually enjoy the pursuit that are the ones you really have to use the filters for. Also never forget that they wouldn't keep doing it if they didn't get SOME form of positive reinforcement. Many a new sub will get all wet and gushy at the most trite cliche things like that because it's the button they want pushed.

I got a huge cut-and-paste I got on a different site, a few years ago. The person was supposedly going to train me online for a few months, then turn me over to my "true Master" (who I wouldn't have supposedly met or talked with or e-mailed first, but I suspect was actually the same person). He wanted me to drink my own piss, put clamps on myself, hit myself with various things, pose in difficult positions, and do other such stuff on webcam. I laughed, blocked, and deleted.
