Velociraptor vs Giant Anteater
Post by taipan on Jun 21, 2007, 10:29pm

Velociraptor Mongoliensis
"Velociraptor was a small, slender dinosaur that stood just three feet tall and weighed as much as an average dog. However, it had lethal claws and one of the highest brain-to-body weight ratios of any dinosaur. These and other features of its skeletal remains show it was an agile and aggressive predator. "

Giant Anteater - Myrmecophaga tridactyla
Giant anteaters are quite distinctive morphologically, they are the largest of the anteater species. The snout is long (up to 45 cm in length) and the skull is streamlined with small eyes and ears. The tail is large and bushy and is nearly as long as the body. Head and body length measures 1,000 to 1,200 mm and tail length 650 to 900 mm. Weight ranges from 18 to 39 kg. Giant anteaters have fur that is thick and coarse and longer towards the tail. Their coat is brown with black and white stripes on the shoulders and a crest of hair along the middle of the back. The forelegs are white with black bands at the toes. Their hindfeet have 5 short claws, while their forefeet have 5 claws with the inner 3 being very long and sharp. They walk on the wrists of their forefeet, with these large claws curled out of the way. Giant anteaters have no teeth.

Interesting match, the giant anteater has been known to fight off jaguars and pumas with those claws which could so easily break a termite mount and could easily cut through the velociraptor's skin.
However, the velociraptor also has claws which are sharp enough to quickly riip open the giant anteater plus it has an extra weapon which is its jaws. I think due to agility most likely the velociraptor will get the upperhand.

Also... ALSO!

Could a giant anteater play Ultimate Frisbee?

I rest my case.

Jeffff -> RE: Hi there (6/5/2010 10:16:34 AM)

You are an artificial construct, I am the genuine article!

I didn't hear my question answered.

I am the 6 time Collar Me reigning champion!

My number has been retired and I bask in the glow of my success

TheRaptorJesus -> RE: Hi there (6/5/2010 10:37:20 AM)

That is a lie and you are a liar for saying it!

You don't even have it listed in your interests. Some champion you'd be.

Jeffff -> RE: Hi there (6/5/2010 10:38:31 AM)

Of course I don't. It would seem like bragging
