vincentcat -> Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 1:20:39 AM)

I was wondering if online D/s relationship is only what guys do. I have seen many male profiles who said they would like to do online submission, but I've seen fairly little girl profiles who said they would like to submit online. I assume girls are more private and afraid that the dom could just take pictures and post them everywhere or something? I really don't know, so I'm asking for your opinion.

LittleBroken -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 1:39:52 AM)

I think it's because most men are visual creatures (please note the bolding of "most") and there are few of us females how actually enjoy the past time with a trusted guy. (trusted being the key word here)

Here in the video chat room attached to this site is laughable and one of the most badly moderated video rooms I've encountered.

In other video rooms guys at least pretend to be polite and interested.
Here guys just demand access to your cam and to be in position (on your knees) without sharing so much as HI! How are you or Kiss my arse. and send abusive PM's when you balk calling you fake and a host of other unsavory things.

Any woman after making the initial mistake of entering it maybe once or twice and returns is desperate or just plain stupid.

Small wonder women here are hesitant to cam when the video room is infested with arseholes.

This is the reason why, Sweetheart.

I don't know anything about the video room, but I do agree that generally men are more visual and women are more emotional when it comes to sex. I can tell you personally I have not one iota of interest of getting on cam with any guy I don't know well and trust implicately, it's possible men don't have as much reluctance. I don't think online has to include cam though, dunno.

The bottom line for me is quite simply: "Ain't nothing like the real thing baby."

vincentcat -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 1:51:09 AM)

Hahaha, I would agree with your last statement, sadly there is no real thing where I live. So I'm limited to online for the year. :(

LittleBroken -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 2:01:51 AM)

Then my advice to you is be respectful.
Show an interest.
View women here as a human beings with feelings and give us a sense of the real "YOU".
Stay out of, for the love of all's holy, the video room.

Nothing screams  immature teenage leg humper than a PM asking..."Wanna Cam"

vincentcat -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:13:33 AM)

Well, I explained my views and what I am like in my profile. I'm not much into the sex part in BDSM. I much rather prefer to control a sub in other aspect. ;)

LittleBroken -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:20:49 AM)

Sure..but being part of this community..posting honestly and openly...involving yourself will cut you more ice with the women here.

Please don't be so naive to believe your profile alone will bring the interest.
Here you are only one of thousands of profiles to choose from.

Post with empathy and sympathy and women will WANT to look at your profile and respond.
Yes, it seems the long road but trust me if you rely on a profile alone and you'll be drowned out by the crowd and you'll get no where.

Syrox -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:25:41 AM)

I don't actually know!

If anything I would have said it is the opposite.  I want RL TPE or 24/7 but it seems I end up with subs who want to never go any further than text based MSN.

LittleBroken -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:29:10 AM)

Then I believe your filtering process is flawed.

The best way to get what you want is to ask for it......nicely and politely.
Funny is it not..this is the first time I've seem your name pop up on any thread.

Something to think about.

Where in the UK are you that there is no scene at all?

vincentcat -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:34:04 AM)

Of course I don't count on it. But putting effort in to describing what you are like is important. Also I am not sure how else you can interest someone. I mean, It's not like real life where you can strike up a good conversation and go somewhere fur. You only can PM a person here,  so it's important to know if he person you PM is worth the time.

Also, I live in Lithuania right now and will come to UK next year.

LadyEllen -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:34:53 AM)

http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/ is your friend OP; unless youre somewhere really out of the way, there'll be something within reach of you in the listings on that site

You aren't comprehending what I'm saying ..a profile without a sympathetic presence here on the board and you may as well be wanking off to porn and not have bothered registering at all.

vincentcat -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:41:57 AM)

Sympathetic Presence? Explain?[8|]

DesFIP -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:48:37 AM)

If you show through your journal and your posts that you are a caring person. That you have sympathy for others and hopefully some degree of empathy. That you share from your past to support others who are in the same boat.

LB is telling you that women here will look at your forum posts and judge you more on them than on your profile. Because of the fact that forum posts are about so many different things, the attitude you portray over time gives a fuller impression of who you really are. We can determine from your comments if you're the sort of person who doesn't tip a waitress or berates someone for things they have no control over.

LittleBroken -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:49:55 AM)

Be a part of the community..post and respond naturally...show you understand..show your humor, share thoughts.

To be honest I've looked at your profile and really as much effort as you've obviously put into it, it really is wasted effort until you become an entrenched and known entity here.
Please don't take this the wrong way..but as much effort as you've put into your profile there are a myriad of others who have gone to the same lengths.
It's the effort you put on the boards that pays off.

Thank you DesFIP.

Syrox -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 4:54:25 AM)

I'd have to agree with DES.  Come in here, post as yourself, and people will notice you!  I have made a couple of good friends (albeit in countries half way across the globe but friends none the less) simply by coming in here, showing both my humour and also my serious side.  PM's or even MSN can't really do that (ok, msn can but it isnt the same sort of snap shot that you can get of someone by simply reading their thoughts on the plethora of subjects that arise on these boards)

My advice... Relax, be YOURSELF and not what you THINK the subs want and you'll get noticed, and if your lucky, you'll hopefully be able to develop a friendship based on that. but slow and steady is the best speed to go.

vincentcat -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 5:13:49 AM)

Sadly, I doubt I can do that. I am not a group person. I do not fit in the crowd. I prefer being alone or with one person, because only then they can understand me and I can understand them.

LittleBroken -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 5:16:40 AM)

Then I hope you can pay your internet subscription and somehow..someway Blockbuster has found it's way to your fair shores and has a customer loyalty card because you'll be spending a shit load of nights alone.
