Okay I'm going to give you the benefit of doubt. Are you referring to the need to be humiliated and degraded?

Everyone deserves a chance to have respect...and in some cases respect is not for the person but the position (as in respect for a judge or the president where you may not respect the person but should respect the "office").  In my mind respect must be earned but a certain amount is given to a stranger out of courtesy.  That stranger can then act to earn more respect or to lose the respect that they were granted out of initial courtesy.

Slaves are no different...they give a gift to their dom that earns them respect.  In this case the respect is for the person and NOT for the "office".

Again respect is an attitude , courtesy is a behaviour, you are mot obligated to feel anyway about another but you ar expected to act civily toward others.

I suppose if people are willing to tolerate being disrespected they do not feel themselves entitled to it. On the other hand if a S type person won't hang with being disrespected, I suppose they are making the statement they are entitled to it...

I know I am entitled to respect... either I am respected or the man in question can go fuck himnself

Regardless of the different ideas people have of respect, I'm quite sure all slaves are entitled to it. Unless they're the kind that really get off on the super-Dom-master-of-your-soul-screw-safe-words-on-your-knees-bitch kind of slavery, in which case they may not want respect at all. But that's a different issue.

Isn't the whole point of the point of the forums different issues?

Aren't we supposed to be tolerant of different issues? (my kink is ok, your kink is sick)

I think they're entitled to basic human dignity but depending on the level of "slavery" involved I find it hard to respect the decision to live life as someone else's property.

yes...they are human beings and, if earned, deserve respect as much as anyone else of any other orientation.

Why is that Elisabella?

Because to me things like TPE and "internal enslavement" when taken to an extreme turn a person into a reflection of their partner rather than a person with a unique self, and my reaction to that type of person tends to be negative.

Respecting someone's right to make a decision doesn't always equate to respecting the decision they make.

Then you don't think they deserve respect?

It depends on the person. If they have other redeeming qualities I'd probably respect them for those. If their entire life is so wrapped up in slavery that they have no opinions of their own, I doubt I'd have much respect for them.

I also find it hard to respect someone's decision to do insanely degrading things to themselves, but that seems to be less life-consuming than things like internal enslavement. Even so, if someone refers to themselves as "this worthless slave bitch" I'll assume they know themselves well enough to know what they're talking about and take them at their word

Ya gotta respect someone honest enough to say they want no respect.

Or is that not respect someone that says they want no respect?

I'm confused.

LOL

IMO you can respect their honesty, respect their openness, and totally look down on the thing they're being open and honest about.

When someone claims to be a misogynist (and shows it in every single post) it means he has a "hatred/dislike/mistrust of women". Of course someone like that will not respect any woman, especially those claiming to be slaves. It removes any meaning from the OP.
