Glasgow -> 'Death' as a hard limit (6/10/2010 6:53:29 PM)

I don't understand why some people list 'death' as a hard limit. I would assume that we would all want to avoid death in all situations?

Unless, of course, death refers to necrophilia. In which case, good for them for letting me know they won't be doing anything illegal.

Well... I guess I feel better knowing that they don't want to kill me [sm=axe.gif]

You're not going to believe this, but that is a kink.  Google "Dolcett girl"...

Many people in the 'style are not reality-based.

littlewonder -> RE: 'Death' as a hard limit (6/10/2010 6:59:42 PM)

when I was still in search mode I'd have "doms" approach me for all kinds of "kinks".

I think you'd be shocked at some of the stuff they wanted...including death.

After so many approaches to those types of kinks, you start to accumulate a large list of limits that you thought were already things that you wouldn't have to mention because they're so far out there...wrong.

Death as a hard limit has always made me chuckle. I don't care how hard a limit death is for someone.. they are *going* to die. ::laughs::

Does the death kink involve actual or simulated death? Because I think this would be a very important point to straighten out before anyone gets tied up.

Because there are actually some dipshits out there that say, "If it's not on your hard limit list, it's fair game." Really, there are dipshits like that out there that assume death and dismemberment are included in that statement. i've met some of them. [8|]

Well, I just had to google that...
what an interesting little story that was. I really do try to be non-judgemental about a lot of things, but somewhere, some little idiot is reading that... I mean, really... how does anyone suspend belief THAT much? Give me a fucking break... tingling skin my ass.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: 'Death' as a hard limit (6/10/2010 8:55:44 PM)

A) I believe in death of choice, there are many legitimate reasons a person may wish to end their life or put their life in risk of ending

B) As long as the body consented before death, I don't see the problem in necrophilia

This is one of the rare occasions I agree with LA (I do mean rare, rare than hen's teeth).

Lets look at it logically:

A): Ask any Mercenary or other combat forces of similar ilk and they will tell you that Death and the taking on one's life is a real choice rather then being left to be captured by  an enemy who will mutilate and torture them just for fun. (Not joking here folks just stating reality). In many cultures, it is  warrior's right to choose the time, place and method of his death unlerss it happens in battle. Also I know people (and have visited this place time after time except I have Neets to stay alive for), who live in horrific pain and crippling disabilities who are not afforded the necessary surgery or pain medications unless they can pay the over the top fees and costs themselves and thus are abandoned by societies who don't want top know unless they find themselves in a similar boat and a Government who on the public face decries people being forced to live like that and espouses a good lifestyle and yet refused to do a bloody thing and wants to forget these people who are costing them money. Some will say it is a coqward's qway out. Tough I say that let those people change places with those inflicted and see how long they want to, live in pain and lack of basic mobility and normal social activities when a wheelchair is outside their affordability.

B): I'm not a huge fan of necrophilia, but in my way of seeing things, if the consent was given, the body is treated with respect and no laws are broken or other people hurt then who are we to say it is wrong? It may seem wrong for most of us but we can not and should not speak for others. I say if you want to do thisd then dom it in private and speak not publicly about such things.

SocratesNot -> RE: 'Death' as a hard limit (6/10/2010 11:05:57 PM)

I think that euthanasia and other legitimate reasons why would one decide to end his life or to risk ending his life should not be put in the same box with death as a form of kink. Death as a form of kink has nothing to do with these legitimate reasons to die or risk your life. This is just a fantasy some people have. As long as this fantasy is not tried in reality, everything is OK.

But yes, there are some sick people who will try to pursue this fantasy and make it real. This is something that I don't approve of even if this is consented. Killing oneself is not a crime, but killing others is murder and even if they consented you are still a murderer and you should go to jail, and you are probably psychopathic.
In these types of fantasies all the responsibility lies with dominant. Even if submissive consents to being killed and/or eaten, and such things, if you do it, you are a murderer and a psychopath.

xxblushesxx -> RE: 'Death' as a hard limit (6/10/2010 11:09:30 PM)

Fret not, SN, this is not something the average slave/sub would be subjected to. You'd actually have to seek it out.

sublizzie -> RE: 'Death' as a hard limit (6/10/2010 11:28:16 PM)

I told Santa death was one of my hard limits but he ignored me and died anyway. Hate it when Dom-types ignore one's limit list.

We hate when they wilfully ignore our limits...but we keep on loving them anyway...

I think it all depends on the "laugh" - if it's "ha ha" then fair enough, but if you're going "muwah-ha-ha-haaaaaa" then, well it's somewhat different ;-)

Especially if you're wearing a grim reaper costume at the time.....
