Yeah the pic belongs to me. I own it because its of me and I paid to have it taken.  Some of you are ridiculous.

On the other hand they treat me this way on my normal Geek forums too so meh.

I'm thinking the mind control and charisma only work in face to face situations?

And my masochist brings me back today...

I had forgotten how insular longstanding forums can be, and I should know because I am part of the "Old Guard" on one.  I should have spent more time posting small ideas in other peoples threads or asked a much simpler question, trying to feel the space out first..

I had no intention to undermine the integrity of subs and can see how my writings could be interpreted that way.  However, When I spoke of subs I didn't mean "women".  I meant people, which I did say.  Malkinius has put it best.  Its most like you adopt the role of educator in every conversation, and people are already trained to respond to that.  There is a lot more to it, but it does work on most everyone combined with a strong presence.  It also works on groups if they pre-trust you by say buying a ticket, or based on reputation.  At its core its like constant propagandizing, and many of the speech devices employed by the most fascist leaders in world history are incredibly effective in this area.

So I am sorry for storming in, so to speak.  But that's all.

You are cute if that is your picture and this is a nice cozy little post. As far as mind control, intent makes all the difference. If some dickwad uses it to implement nasty agendas then it is always gone too far. If someone is honed in the skills of how to persuade people to the betterment of the person and the planet well have fun!-- and be freaking careful of the subconscious and what you could trigger unwittingly.

Malkinius,

I'm not trying to be argumentative or intentionally obtuse. Unlike Jeff, I did study Neural Science (actually, Molecular Biology with subspecialties in Neural Science and Genetics) and although I found your discussion interesting, it was also entirely irrelevant. One does not need to understand the biochemistry of learning to make a case for or discuss brainwashing or "mind control" techniques, any more than one needs to know biochem to understand love.

Your second post about cults and Stockholm Syndrome was much closer to the spirit of this thread, but as I already pointed out, again irrelevant. Subs dropping their panties for nice looking doms is much closer to the truth. No brainwashing required.

Outstanding. I really would like to talk to you about that but not among the garbage that most of this thread has become.

What I was talking about was irrelevant to what the OP may have been trying and failing to do. It is very relevant to what I do. It does also explain bits of his claims if there is basis to them. I agree that good looks, something I rather lack, will cause many dropped panties. <grins> However, what is the mechanism behind causing them to drop? That is the realm I have been dealing with so yes, it still come back to the topic and is connected.

We can discuss them with or without the underlying mechanisms of how they can occur. We can also talk about love and the oxytocin cascade in the same conversation. Actually, we can do all of that together. <grins> There are real connections. My point right now is without an understanding of the how the what can not be fully discussed. Yes, I know we do that all the time. Does that mean we should? No, CM forums are not the best place to do it. Do you have a better place?

Be well....

Malkinius

Malkinius, sorry I didn't respond earlier but I left this thread and didn't come back to it until now. As I have already stated, I don't believe one needs to understand the biochemistry behind brain activity in order to understand behavior and emotions and how to manipulate them. Unless you are an academic and doing pure research, I fail to see the point. You would be better served looking at this from a psychology or maybe even psychiatric perspective than purely biocemistry. That's kind of like saying one cannot master driving the automobile until one understands the engineering behind internal combustion engines. Few would take you seriously. I disagree with your statement that I bolded above. A deeply scientific discussion with you regarding neurotransmitters, synapses, receptors, etc., can be quite daunting and time consuming if you haven't had the requisite education. You can PM me and I'll listen to what you have to say and we'll take it from there.

If you are trying to understand why women swoon, then I disagree with you that these forums are not the correct vehicle to understand this. The opinions of many women and their collective experiences would be far more valuable to your research than my very limited adventures. You can respond here, or send me a cmail.

I will contact you privately as well. I know some but I know I don't know enough and I want to learn more. In good scientific method, I looked at what I observed happening and asked what is the mechanism by which this happens? I have looked into the psychology side as well as the sociology side, the anthropological side and the communications side (which most don't look at it seems) and now the biological side. The more I ask how does this work the more I keep returning to a few basic mechanisms. I am looking at this, as I keep saying, as much from the academic side as the practical side. However, I also believe that you can not prove a theory unless it can be put into practice. Thus I also work at putting all the pieces together and seeing if they work according to the theory of what should work. You can call it reverse engineering if you want. I sometimes do.

I don't specifically care why women swoon or do most things. I am studying how enslavement works. How one person changes their mindset to mesh with and ultimately becomes the extension and compliment of another person. That is not the same thing as the mind control the OP was talking about.

Be well.....

Malkinius
