Just saying…

Yes you are.  ;)

A) I'm afraid that it really is true that only people who've experienced similar phenomena can relate to what I am talking about.  Some did.  It can certainly be learned.

B) I'll own up and quit here.  The manner in which all of this was written was meant to be a display of what I am talking about.  It is Form-Content Integration.  I wrote this whole thing and fielded all of the comments generally using the most controlling and absolute language possible ( got lazy later), so of course I sound like an immense jerk to a group of people.  This is also why it seems like an advertisement or a solicit.  I don't talk like that in real life, I was illustrating my point in what I still find to be a clever and useful manner.  Sorry no one caught it.  I did mention it.

There is a lot more that goes into influencing people without their knowledge than just words, but being able to swiftly and effectively pick out the most dominant language to express yourself is certainly a component.  I was "dominating" this thread I started, of course no one liked it.  There are many different areas of skill acting, magic, psychology, even criminology that go into the finished operating and it all has to be ideally effortless so that you appear to not be thinking of any of it.  But through these skills a person can project a level of dominance that is extreme.

But besides having had a serious question at the time, I have a serious point.  There are many people out there who are far better than me at this stuff, either because they are pros like Derren Brown or because they have all the skills and are sociopaths like say Jim Jones (though he's not exactly out there any more).  Its easy to see through the words on paper but when they come from the right person in the right manner it just works. *shrug*

So there's my lesson in manipulation without really ever saying to much.  I'm probably still a jerk though. :P

You, Sir, are mistaken.

You see, you can't just say that your domination skills didn't work on us because this is a forum, and we are all angry posters. I say this not facetiously; we are indeed all just a tad self righteous here.

I did catch on when you said we should look at the language of your posts. But that is not the point; the point is that you are incorrect.

You are akin to the magician who says his trick usually works, but this crowd seems to have caught on. You completely and utterly failed at domination. Everyone here walked all over you, with the exception of a few more patient posters.

If your form content integration had worked, we would all agree with you. But we do not, and so, you failed. You 100% failed at domination. There is no other way to put it. Do not blame the FCI trick as making you look like a jerk. You look like a jerk because you failed at what you claim to do best.

You say that "nobody liked it" because you were "dominating the thread". I did admire your thick skin, but you were not at all dominating the thread. You were trying to, and that's a big difference. If you had dominated the thread, I wouldn't be about to call you a giant douche, would I?

You giant douche.

Greetings MagiksSlave....

I said quite a while back in this thread that it looked like a self advertisement. I figured the picture wasn't him no more than your picture is you or mine is me. Of course, my icon here is not pretending to be me either. <grins> I am used to it since I have used it most of the time I have been on this board.

Wiat a minute! You mean to tell me you arent a shiney silver mac apple?

My entire world just exploded!

Oh well....While there are reasons to not explain some things because they will be misused or misunderstood, and I do that as well, if you don't know why what you do works you should be trying to find out. That is certainly what I do. I also believe that some people have a unique combination of talents, knowledge and experience that lets them do a few things much easier than anyone else can do and sometimes things that others can't do at all. That is a universal comment, not a kink based one.

Be well....

Yes, and I am not disagreeing with that, what I am pointing out, was that if the OP posessed any of these above abilities, he would have worded his OP in a way that didnt turn of 99.99% of the posters here.

laurell3 -> RE: The dangers of mind control. (6/12/2010 9:40:00 PM)

Coming out with a ridiculously poorly written and worded concept then backing up away from it as fast as you possibly can with your tail between your legs...isn't really domination, it's stupidity. Yes, people can jerk each other's chains, it happens here all the time. You're really not good at it. When the OP is a raving idiot or loon, we do tend to attempt to go on with the topic in their absence for other people reading here. Again, you're not remotely close to special.

Your cousin is hot though (although I suspect it ain't your cousin).

In any event, I enjoyed the thread...sadly not because of the OP. We tend to have our own sense of chain jerking around here....laughs.

On the above point I will agree with you. It can be learned.

Regretfully it didn't work very well. You had too many people from too many different backgrounds who nit picked it to death. You only got two or at the most three points across and failed at one of the points you were trying to push. One of those points that did come through was that of an egotistical jerk. The whole "Peter's Uncle" point was totally missed by most. The point about how correct semantic usage of interaction did make it and was mostly agreed upon by people.

You missed a few major ones but your list has some validity. You need to study more semiotics and meme prioritization. I will have to think about the criminology connection. Have you looked into connections with Red Cross Life Saving and First Aid instruction?

On your last point I will agree. I think you have a clue but you need a lot more work to really understand what you seem to be talking about. Regretfully, that work is in biology and neurobiology. Follow the biological mechanism of what is called capture bonding and you get a new perspective on the subject.

And yes, you did come across as a jerk who was self-promoting. You need a style makeover and a lot of time.

Be well....

Greetings all....

Since the discussion turned to schoolwork, I leave it as an exercise to any who want the extra credit to put the clues together in what I have posted in this thread about the mechanisms I employ. The key points are all there. Of course, the course work to understand them is not. <evil grin>

Be well all.....

Plasticine -> RE: The dangers of mind control. (6/12/2010 10:10:22 PM)

I'm not claiming that my skills don't work because this is a forum, I'm claiming that you would never attempt to persuade a forum in that manner if you were serious about it.  I can't use that kind of language and feel empathy to a crowd, this has been mildly antagonistic.  I'm claiming very specifically that these skills work best when you have one person alone and already under your influence.   Which is why it is so successful a predatory tactic.  You really are a rabid bunch.  Sorry I stirred the pot.  My concerns were sincere and legitimate though and I do appreciate the sage advice that was offered.  The lines are on paper with no tone anyway but if you open yourself up to someone and they work that angle it is going to work.  Which is fine when you want it to.  But its also a very slippery.  I didn't bring any of this up to flatter myself.  I brought it up because certain women I've communicated with recently  made me very concerned when I saw how susceptible they were to this stuff.  Yes I should find someone for me who is less so or who is at least on par.  But I have genuine concern for how vulnerable certain high-end subs are when caught off guard.

I'll take this as my welcoming party.

laurell3 -> RE: The dangers of mind control. (6/12/2010 10:13:11 PM)

Welcoming party? You gonna take down the guy's pic that you probably don't have consent to have on this site? There's no doubt that people get taken here all the time. It's the internet, if people want to believe that something that's too good to be true is true, they will until the truth smacks them in the head. Is it alarming? Yes. However, absent them asking for advice, it's not really our place to say they are doing it wrong. No one can manipulate you if you don't open that door, I don't care how skilled you think you are.

What absolute conceit!

Yes you are a Jerk of the very highest order.

You are coming clean ONLY because no one else was swallowing your B.S and it was only a matter of time before some one ran your picture through Tin Eye and called you on that as well!

I'm with Laurell on this one.
Have a shred of decency and remove that poor chaps picture out of your profile.

Thanks for the constructive comments. I'm actually a student of cognitive and neurosciences at the moment myself.  Seems like we are at least looking into similar things and I actually am a huge fan of Dennett and Blackmore's meme theory. Its easy to forget where you pick bits up from.
