You can get quite reasonable dog cages from eBay nowadays.

What in your experience is the best size for a 5'6" slim flexible girl slave?

Ideally, I'd like her to be comfortable but cramped.

The sizes are 24", 30", 36" and 48".

How long is she to be in the cage?  A cage that is too small may cause circulation problems if she can't move around enough.  People who are taking long plane rides are told to get up every hour and walk around to prevent blood clots.  The doctor has recommended that we do the same when traveling in the motor home for the same reason.

Much depends on whether this cage is for short term punishment or for night time sleeping arrangements.  I would say bigger is better most of the time, but that is a personal preference and has nothing to do with whether smaller might be just as safe as larger.

Thank you Peppermint. A thoughtful reply.

I suppose a slave squeezed into a smaller cage looks more erotic but, as you say, may not be so good for her.

Interestng point.

Master James

~FR~

You could always follow the rule of thumb we use for show dogs, they should be able to stand up (in this case on all 4s) and turn around.

Hello James,

If you wish to purchase a cage for a human, make certain it's long enough to allow them to fully extend their legs. You'd be surprised how painful going hours on end with folded knees can become. As Peppermint suggested, considering the term length of placement in the cage is vital. If overnight or for a period of a few days (or weeks), get a large cage. Standard dog cages are pretty flimsy, however, and are relatively easy to disassemble from the inside. Strong, custom-built cages (with BDSM in mind or not) with full welding will be far more effective.

If she is cramped she will not be comfortable. The two cannot coexist. The more cramped she is, the shorter the time she can tolerate it. And be sure if you do that to her, that you can get her out of it. Because if her muscles are too cramped she will not be able to crawl out. And you don't want to have to get the cops to use the Jaws of Life to open it.

Its very true.  I also know some one personally who has gotten a few blood clots from not getting up and walking around enough during plane flights.

Ditto, a dog crate may be all the two of you need to enjoy yourselves but you should know going in that they won't actually restrain a human.

You can always re-enforce a dog crate with a few well placed zip ties and pad locks. Some of the sturdier one (made for a great dane or such) should be able to hold a human.
As far as size - see above.

UniqueRaven -> RE: Best Size Cage For a Girl (6/18/2010 2:07:39 PM)

There are some very good sturdy dog crates out there. The one i had with my previous Master was a fold-down "suitcase" style that could easily slide under a bed or a closet when not in use - but it was VERY strong (and heavy!), and trust me, i'm one of those that will check. [;)]

This is the one i had:

http://www.precisionpet.com/detail.aspx?id=5 (click "instructions" to see how it folds down)

What my previous Master did was have a few small well-placed padlocks to hold together the sides where it would gap open. This would mean to take it apart, the locks just had to be unlocked and two pins released and - ta dah, instant storage.

The padlocks are better than zip ties because they're easy to place and lock and unlock - zip ties you have to zip them on, cut them off, so on and so forth.

Call me the "cage girl" - i love caging. [:)]

Raven,
This is interesting. Being that you're 5'8" I assume you had the largest one? (Great Dane)
Were you comfortable in it and how long were you usually kept in it? Thanks.

So ......... Raven        ............... did the leak-proof liner really work?

Enquiring minds want to know!

Yes, i had the largest one ("Great Dane" - laughs...[:D])

i often felt like it was too large for me though. i would have preferred a size or two down. But then, i do like a cozy cage.....

i was able to move around in it just fine, could sit up almost all the way to read, etc. - but could not stretch out my legs. My previous Master would just keep me in it during the evenings while he relaxed and so on, just a few hours.

If i were to sleep in the cage for the night, he had a longer "dungeon" type cage where i could lay down. But honestly the dog cage was my favorite.

i think though for a "starter" cage for a girl, or for her to be able to move around well, for a girl my height, it was a good size. i had a pillow and a blanket and some books in it (when he allowed them) and could still move around.

Sidebar note here - it isn't so much the height of the girl, but how long her legs are - torso/leg lengths vary. i think the best thing to do is just measure her and then choose accordingly - the "measuring" could be a pretty hot moment of objectification.....*cough* [:D]

It looks like a sub with any type of determination could take that cage apart like a bad sandwich.

GotSteel -> RE: Best Size Cage For a Girl (6/18/2010 9:26:58 PM)

I'm glad to hear that there's a sturdy dog crate out there. I'd never seen one where I thought the welds would hold up to a single good kick.

TheGorenSociety -> RE: Best Size Cage For a Girl (6/18/2010 9:45:50 PM)

Some of us do make well built cages among other things.
