Drudge Report Headline:

BP Exec Goes Sailing: Obama Goes Golfing

The stories:

Gulf residents outraged by BP CEO's yacht outing

Obama hits golf course with Biden on another hot, humid weekend

Pretty frigging funny, in a sad way.

Maybe this bullshit would be more credible if you both had complained about Bush's extraordinary amount of vacation time while he was in office.

The premise of the thread is the comparison between the two presidents... how similar they are that way.

And the ODs sufferers continue their 'Obama does something commonplace' freak out. Let me know when President Obama accumulates more than 2 years on vaction while serving as POTUS.

I guess it depends a bit on who he's playing golf with, Firm. There is a lot on President Obama's plate that has nothing to do with the Gulf spill. He's the President, wherever he may be spending his time (which also applied to Bush II, when he escaped the official calendar at the White House). Frankly, I want Obama getting plenty of sunshine, and exercise, and fresh air, along with a solid night's sleep whenever possible. I assume he's talking shop out there.

Now the BP asshat... I'll be taking a nice roadtrip vacation next month, and I'll be perfectly happy to make inconvenient turns to avoid patronizing their facilities. Unless maybe a breakfast burrito lands wrong, in which case they'll be my first choice.

Personally I'm just happy O'bama is not out there clearing brush on a ranch for the photo ops

And as for the golf, wasn't Bush who said he would stop playing as long as the War was on then played for 6 more months until the pictures of him still playing appeared in the papers

Heretic, Sanity,

Couldn't agree more.

My humor isn't "laughing at the Dems", or complaining about Obama's round of golf,  but laughing at the comparisons, but reversed parties.

Which is why my link is to the Drudge headline, which is similar to many of the leftists complaints several years ago about Bush.

Maybe it will help some people to see that many of the complaints then are just as unfounded as the complaints now.

Just a classic case of a political "gotcha".

I also notice how none of the left leaning posters got it, but the right leaning ones did.

Firm

Its good to see the Three Stooges back together guys. If Bush and Obama are similar Im a Republican.

Btw, is it okay for a non American to speak up on your thread ?  Next you will be saying "You can only speak on our thread if you are like us, deluded."

Get back to me when Obama is as crass as this.

Oh, stow it, Polite. There is certainly a fair amount discussion where input from non-Americans is appropriate and welcome, but when it comes to internal issues, this very often reaches the point of ignorant, busybody, rudeness.

I cetainly don't see waves of spam from any Americans here about who should be kicked out of Parliament.

I don't think we are allowed to talk about Bush anymore.

He's out of office now.

So, I'm really confused by this thread since we can only criticize Obama because it's all on him now.

But feel free to continue if you can find a way to blame Obama for TARP, the Iraq War, and the GM bailout.

They are?

Let me help Sanity because you seem to be Google-challenged on this issue:

White House Not Shy About Calling it a "Vacation"

No recent president took more heat for his vacations than did President Bush.

My records show he made 77 trips to his ranch while in office, spending all or part of 490 days there. He also made 149 visits to Camp David, totaling all or part of 487 days. And he also trekked to his folks place in Kennebunkport, Maine on 11 occasions, racking up all or part of 43 days there. Add 'em up and you get 1,020 days or 2.8 years of his presidency.

It's more "vacation time" than any other recent president.

Did I step on your toes Rich ?  I was unaware you were the great arbitrator of who can say what. Spam, using your narrow definition, is anyone who says something you dont like.

Bullshit, Polite. I'm merely calling a rude, inadequate punk a rude, inadequate punk. If you want to hop in the shopping cart with them, you are welcome to do so though.
