A few recent threads got me wondering this yet again (I did a search and found threads mainly related to scammer profiles using photos not of themselves)....

I see a number of profiles that have other people in the pictures.  Some will say that these are relatives, friends or exes.  I feel uncomfortable as I wonder if the other people are kinky and also if they consented to have their image visible on a bdsm website.

And yes I have often sent messages to the owners of said profiles and they have not responded to my questions about this.  (actually no I lie, I have been told to ........ be less curious ...... [:D] )

I would love to know the thoughts of other people about this

I don't really wonder if the others consented, I pretty much assume they didn't and judge the person accordingly.

Funny you should bring this up because just yesterday I saw a profile with photos of Cameron Diaz.

And it wasn't just someone who looked like her.  I had seen at least one of the pictures before in the news, taken at the Oscars.

Well you will be happy to know that Jack Nicholson has a profile here too. The pic is of him in his 20's but its definitely Jack.

Heck, there are a lot of guys around here with big huge boobs.  You see them all the time as their first picture, sexy pictures of what appears to be a woman on a man's profile.

I find other obviously unkinky folks on someone's main pic to be obnoxious. What I really dislike even more is men who cut the face of women out of their profile, or they photoshop them out by cropping. It is not hard to get images of yourself to put on profile, wtf are you using photos from past relationships on a kinky site? It is just plain tacky

I think julia used the perfect word there.  It's tacky.

We're supposed to be folks who believe all about consent, right?  It seems to Me that doesn't just hold when somebody's got a whip in their hand.  While some 'others' included in profile pics may not care, I'm willing to bet there are a good number of people out there that really don't want their picture up on a BDSM site.  To Me, it shows just how little that person (the one who actually created the profile) cares about the concept of consent or for the privacy of others.

I run around with tech savvy young people with their mobile uploady thingys, etc. (most of my local friends are fellow grad students). They live their lives on facebook. So they come to my parties or I go to theirs and they take millions of photos that they post to FB, and they tag me in them... and they don't ask for permission. It is a generational thing, but I don't like that. I go in and manually untag myself....I wish they wouldn't post photos of me at all. I don't get the choice of which ones I like, etc

It is not such a big deal that I would want to hurt their feelings over it... and like I said, it is a generational thing ( I think)

I can't tell you how many times I have met people and they were disappointed to find out I was not an actual anteater.

I now mention it before meeting.
