You seem focused on the grill.  What about the chicken?  If you don't use Kosher or Halal prepared chicken it doesn't really matter about the grill.

Good point.

This is another good reason to be an atheist. You can eat whatever you want, not constrained for ridiculous arbitrary reasons.

Are you saying that only an atheist has unrestricted dietary choice?

I'd hope not (most Christians I've ever met ignore the no meat except fish on Friday thing, for a start, and I've met a fair few muslims who ignore the Prophet's prohibition on booze), but that is how it sounds, isn't it?

They are not quite equivalent. It is much more difficult to maintain kosher cooking/eating utensils than under halal.

Didn't miss that part, but you also specifically listed Kosher.  Your grill is not Kosher.  It doesn't matter how interfaith it is.  If there is one person who is truly Kosher then you cannot cook them food on that grill.

As I said, he needs to check with the rabbi and imam.  If the congregation is Reform, a new grill will not be necessary.  While there IS an absolute standard for "kosher", different Jews follow it to differing extents.

Your right Steven.  I probably didn't use the best choice of words.  Having done things like things multiple times I generally follow the strictest rule set I can.  That removes the chance of a problem as much as I can control.
