It's not all black and white, right versus left.

The Democrats are just as much blame as the Republicans (if not more so, in my opinion). 

It's more about personal power, the personal acquisition of wealth and the shift to control of society to uncaring bureaucracies, and the use of them by individuals politicians than the agenda of any particular political party.

Until you can correctly identify the problem, you can't give good solutions.

Didn't say that they necessarily did.

Our current mess is the result of politicians' attempts to get what they want, personally, and for their particular "side".  Some of them were Dems, some of them were Repubs.  The problem is the use of government, and governmental bureaucracies for personal and partisan advantage, rather than for making laws and regulations for the overall good of the country, regardless of which political party gains in the short term.

Someone who wants to blame it all on the Republicans (or all on the Democrats) ... then they are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

They did not want to take it from excess TARP funds, they wanted to take it from the stimulus package.

Which doesn't make much sense that you pass a bill to create jobs so there are fewer unemployed yet want to dilute the effect of that bill by using it for other purposes.

Well, I thought they were, but then I read Firms post, so maybe they aren't. Either way, I am not sure what that has to do with the posters who think all repubs are rich and all libs are poor.
