She is mine. I zealously take care of my stuff. So of course she is protected....mhhhhuuuuuaaawwwww....from everyone but me.

Kana -
I respectfully challenge this. Are you with her 24 hours a day? Are you awake and at the ready always? This is the thing I'm talking about. She is *not* protected. She really does go grocery shopping or to the gynecologist or for a walk or on the subway or out for tea with her mom... without you. You can't possibly "take care of (your) stuff" when she will in fact have time away from you.

The best thing is to be prepared!

sunshine

I will agree with you there SM (hey, nice initials). I was speaking more emotionally than physically. With me, she has a safe place to go, a sanctuary where she knows that I will wrap my arms around her and do everything I can to shelter her during life's storms.

I don't think that it is a "dominant" trait whatsoever. I think it is a "person" trait.

I agree with sunshine. In my relationship, my boy is as protective of me as much as I am protective of him.

Thank you for the clarification!

Hey, thanks for calling me out. I generalized and you nailed me cold. And on a point I happen to feel pretty strongly about. A slave isn't helpless, and, as you aptly pointed out, no dominant can be with her 100% of the time. It's on her to be capable of protecting herself when it comes to many of the forces that blow through our lives. I like strong, vibrant, women capable of standing on their own two feet.

How common do you think it is for Dominants to have a strong protective streak?  Do you see it in yourself or in the Dominant in your life?

I don't see this as a Dominant thing. I see it as a people thing. My girls are highly protective of everyone in our family, myself included. However, they just might not have the authority to act on their protective instincts in all cases. Secondly, I am more interested in having the individuals in my family developing the strength to protect themselves and not have some fight their battles for them. We protect those that can't protect themselves and support those that can. I am not looking to inflate my Domiant ego by being the protector.... it's just part of who we are.. not because we are the Dominant or not.

I've never noticed someone of the dominant pursuasion being any more or less protective than anyone else.

To me, it's another one of those basic human drives that would seem almost instinctual. People are protective and defensive (when need be) of those they love and care about.

Physically protection isn't required here. It's a small town and I live out in the back of beyond, up a mountainside. I can leave the doors wide open all day and night and not worry.

But emotionally protective? Absolutely. We are each other's safe harbors.

I have issued many Domiguy Industries' collars of protection....

It is clearly stated in the small print that the collar of protection immediately becomes void if I could possibly be harmed.

Who is going to protect the protector?

I am not trying to get all deep on yo ass....You think I am protecting the eggs or the golden goose?

I am the capri wearing, mandal sportin' golden goose.

You fucks are on your own. When danger comes a calling....You better hope you can run faster than me.

You don't invite me into your house for coffee,

but on this day you ask for my protection?

I do not see this as a dominant quality... I have cared for my sick dom. I have defended him. I have been known give him advice if I thought something might be harmful for him...

I am a mother to the core of my being, and I am fiercely devoted, loyal and protective of my loves ones.

I am the same way.  There aren't many I let into that fiercely-protected circle, but when they're in, I will go to the mattresses and fight almost to the death for them.  For my own offspring, it would be to the death.

Well the god that let me line up twice when he was handing out the boobage... although he let my sister line up three times... I may be large chested, but she is simply gi-normous
