When you're a democrat, you can go through life, conquesting through the opposite or same sex and no one really seems surprised because you lack the moral compass that usually deters republicans.  Usually, mind you.  (When republicans do it, they're crucified by both sides of the fence because they're expected to have that compass).

So gays are immoral?

-Rolls her eyes.-  Cheating on your spouse is immoral.

Except that's not what you are saying in this post.

It's exactly what -I- am saying here.  Please, don't put words in my mouth.  That's exactly what I meant by that statement.  Perhaps the execution of the statement wasn't perfect, but it's exactly what I MEANT to say, that cheating on your spouse, whether you're straight or gay, is immoral.

Cheating on your spouse is immoral... to your spouse. It has nothing to do with the public.

Putting your own fidelity to your spouse in the spot light, then cheating on your spouse, now makes it a public issue.

Persecuting a man for getting a blow job who never put his fidelity in the spot light, then having it revealed you were cheating on your own spouse while she had cancer.... idiotic.

I could, on a personal level, care less about whether or not someone cheated on their spouse.  It's not my relationship.  When it came to Clinton, it was the fact that he LIED...and then LIED under oath.  That does not bode well in my opinion.  -Shrugs.-

Let's start out slow for you then, since you seem to want to make these leaping assumptions about me and my statements.  Let me translate for you.  First of all, let's look at Clinton.  The guy cheated on his wife while being the president of the US.  People idolized him for doing so.  If a Republican did that, they'd be crucified, because they're expected to be devote to their wives, God, etc.  Most (not all) Republicans would have stepped down from their office.  In fact, I'm pretty sure MOST (not all) do step down almost immediately.  When a Democrat does it, they blow it off like it's no big deal, cling to their office, and find a way to be idolized.

No, Ike was fucking his secretary for years, not a word was said.
Republicans would not have stepped down, until all but dead, look at Nixon. and theres others, but you can google....but for the most part, since they try and make laws and villify everyone 'on the right' who does, they are just slinking away like the typical slimy cocksuckers they are is all, they cant stand up to it.

I think that trying to suck somebody off in the minneapolis airport  and costing the taxpayers of minnesota money while espousing the horrific tear in the fabric of society of these sorts of actions, probably gets republicans more shit than democrats, cuz they are blowholing it all over but not any more interested in adhering to it than society at large.

So, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.

Then you proved me wrong.  That's awesome.  I absolutely agree with you about wasting tax-payer dollars too.  Why do so many people do this though?  We're discussing democrats.  NOT republicans.  So when someone says something bad about dems, they immediately point fingers at republicans.  Liek omfg.  They did it too!  Two wrongs don't make a right.  In fact, it's worse that repubs do it because they preach about morality and all that jazz. It doesn't make cheating on your wife or being a moron any less offensive.

Just like Ann Coulter doesn't always say the best things, and she does say a lot of good...it doesn't make it okay as far as the offensive stuff is concerned.

(I'm probably rambling a little because I'm getting ready for work.  I will reiterate and respond when I get home, but I wanted to try to respond to everyone at least).

Larry Craig

John Ensign

Newt Gingrich

Dan Burton

Helen Chenoweth

All Republican members of Congress involved in sex scandals, none of whom stepped down because of their sexual exploits.

There are many more.  Should I keep going?

And I'm sure there are plenty more who did, right?  I didn't say the repubs weren't without fault here.  I just said most.  Perhaps a lot should be substituted there?  Or some?  A number of?

Exactly, julia.

Asmodiasin, i could care less who is fucking who. I care about how our country is ran. But it does seem like those who jump on the moral high groud are often quickly seen to be lying or deceitful about their own short comings.

As far as Clinton... pft... he got a blow job... those who were pissy were mad because they werent getting one. Sounds like a whole lot of jealousy to me.

Most Dems I know are pretty decent people, it's the *leftists* in their ranks that give them a bad name just like the *rightists* (?) in the Republican party.
You guys (Dems) need to boot them out of your party. Tell them to take that shit down the road. It's certainly not helping you.
Leftists and Communists will only alienate people from your party.
When Leftists and Communists "like" President Obama that's a "bad" thing!

Strange how this thread has turned into a squabble but the Republican one didn't.

A commendable attitude, but one that doesn't seem to be shared by a lot of the neocon element in here, sadly.

At least, I'm pretty sure some of us are...

Your Honor, I'd like to redirect my statement, if I may.  I mean neocons.  blushie looks to be fine to me, if she's a republican.  I've never heard any of that neocon tripe come out of her posts.  I can and will make exceptions for nice people, though I don't understand the choice for conservatism when so much better is to be had.  I'm a dem because I want to see all people cared for and treated equally.  Not everyone can take care of themselves, are we supposed to let those people suffer in the streets?  That's what republicanism seems to say to me.  I don't like that.

I agree.  I could care less who is screwing who as long as the country is being run well.  I do have a problem with him lying.  Lying tends to be a very bad trait in my eyes.  It's a dead horse, and it doesn't need to be beaten; it was just an example I brought up.

Nope.  I think that lying is a very wrong thing for the president to do.  If the president and everyone else in office would just tell the truth, we'd be a much better country.  If he'd come out and said, "Hell yes!  I fucked that bitch's mouth!  I cheated on my crazy wife and I don't feel bad about it!" then I don't think people would have been so pissed off, but he lied under oath.
The lying thing goes for republicans as well.  They're all a bunch of liars and backpedaling assholes. Whether they're republican or democrat or independent.  They say what the voters will believe instead of saying what's real and honest.

We can definitely agree to disagree!
And yes, I believe the democratic party used to be (many years ago) the party of the people. The party that had the "little people" in mind.
I do believe they have gone away from that, and I also believe the republicans are not the devils you believe them to be.
But yanno?
I think it's all a load of stuff....
I don't believe either party has "us" in mind, nor our best intentions.
It's one reason why I don't like arguing politics.
Both parties have become some sort of symbol, but no one really knows of what.
I'd rather vote for the person and/or the idea than the party.
I am conservative.
I claim republican only because I have to claim a party in order to vote properly.
In a way, this whole democrat/republican thing keeps us from paying attention to what's really going on.
The politicians would really freak out if we all got together and held them accountable for what they do and what they say rather than what they claim to be.

the chimp made a point of issuing that bizarre retroactive pardon for himself and his organ grinder, didn't he? You'd almost think that he suspected something he was up to in office was bit dodgy...
