I am curious what- the standards for such shoes- are they really better?

Why would police want these particular shoes?

I wondered due to the fake cop car fire at the g20.   The shoes gave it away.

Status: offline 		No they are not better. Police departments require cops to have a certain shoe as part of their uniforms. Unfortunately the companies that make the "uniform shoes" jack up the price because they know that whatever the price is the police have to buy them because its required.  But its ok. It all comes out of our tax dollars.

BTW- The same companies do the same thing to the military. Still on our tax dollars.

planning a crime... isnt that what blowing up a police car is? in the middle of a G20 meeting? Destruction of government property? Terrorist threat?

Now, shoes have a way of leaving behind quite alot of information. Forensic police love those kinds of evidence traces. What batter way to mask who the perpetrator is then to wear the exact same clothes, including shoes, while engaging in a crime.

Just because the police are wearing them doesnt mean someone else, who isnt a cop, cant buy them as well, as your cite clearly shoes.

Tazz,  what was done at the g-20 is agent provocateurs.  they did this in the past- and they did it just now.

You really should study that issue.   I know it is hard to want to believe.  But it is the truth.

 Toronto Police Association should protect its members by demanding that no agent provocateurs be used at G8 and G20 Summits



The Toronto Police Association [a labour union] should support public calls demanding official assurances that there will be no use of agent provocateurs as part of the security operation at the upcoming G8 and G20 summits, says the Council of Canadians in response to the association’s demand for the resignation of Ontario Federation of Labour president Sid Ryan.



Despite multiple requests to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and all levels of police security at the summits, the Council of Canadians has still not had a response confirming that there will be no use of undercover officers to commit or incite others to commit criminal acts during protests at the upcoming summits. The Council is concerned that agent provocateurs may once again be used by security forces, as they have at previous summits.



“There is irrefutable evidence that police impersonated demonstrators at the last international summit hosted by Prime Minister Harper in Montebello, Quebec in August 2007,” said Mark Calzavara, Ontario-Quebec organizer for the Council of Canadians.



“Video evidence shows three officers dressed in black with masks over their faces and large rocks in their hands. It also shows one of them striking a uniformed riot officer in the head. Whether they were ordered to incite a riot to discredit protestors or whether they did it to give security forces an excuse to clear away the peaceful demonstration, their actions discredited law enforcement in Canada.”



Calzavara adds, “The law regarding the legality of officers committing criminal acts or inciting others to do so leaves far too much room for interpretation and does not protect the civil rights of protestors.”



“The police union is clearly offended by the suggestion that police officers would incite violence to discredit protestors. Instead of criticizing the messenger, they should support the Council of Canadians’ request that the ISU and the Prime Minister forbid the use of agent provocateurs,” Calzavara states. “At the very least, they can instruct their members not to follow orders that undermine civil rights and put both police and protestors in physical danger.”

That isnt what your article states at all.


Quebec provincial police admitted Thursday that three of their officers disguised themselves as demonstrators during the protest at the North American leaders summit in Montebello, Que.

However, the police force denied allegations its undercover officers were there on Monday to provoke the crowd and instigate violence.

"At no time did the police of the Sûreté du Québec act as instigators or commit criminal acts," the police force said in French in a news release. "It is not in the police force's policies, nor in its strategies, to act in that manner.

"At all times, they responded within their mandate to keep order and security."


Police said the three undercover officers were only at the protest to locate and identify non-peaceful protesters in order to prevent any incidents.

Police came under fire Tuesday, when a video surfaced on YouTube that appeared to show three plainclothes police officers at the protest with bandanas across their faces. One of the men was carrying a rock.

Why is this part important? Because there never was a report given that these three men caused any damage or engaged in any violence.

Now, since most of these are done by college students, allow me to explain why that is also important. They wont show the true problems, only what makes the "man" look bad.

Pittsburgh G20. Man goes around causing tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage to businesses. He is arrested. What is shown on youtube? The arrest of this man/boy by plain clothes dressed officers. Accusations that these officers were being abusive for no reason.

Student tosses bicycle at officer because he wont allow her to pass into a restricted area. Bet you never saw that on youtube, even though i witnessed many college students videotaping that incident.

Students will publish and post what they want. That doesnt mean they are telling the "whole story"

Status: offline 		You go off in tangents, pa. Try sticking to a topic. The cops in the 2007 meeting were plants, According to the police, to keep an eye on what was happening. Like the undercover ones in Pittsburgh. Im just thankful there wasnt more damage here. But the crowd was kept under tight control. Its a shame we need this kind of "police state" when political leaders meet. But its become a right of passage according to some college students i know. They look for ways to get arrested for their political views, like a badge of honor. That honor can come back to bite them in the ass when their college days of mommy and daddy protecting them end and they have to face the responsibility of their own selfish actions.
