Who else here gets into either Blood or Vampire type play?

I consider myself both a Blood and Vampire Fetishist (although strictly speaking it's a kink not a fetish for me), although I have to say the interest in Blood, more of than not, does fall under the wider banner of Vampire Fetishism for me. On occasion though I do like the idea of drawing blood not necessarily as part of some Vampire scene, but as part of sensation play (cutting, needleplay, etc).

Just to clarify, so far I haven't actually had the opportunity to indulge in Bloodplay with another partner (have done some solo stuff). My interest in/experience of it comes more from hearing from other people, pictures, descriptions of scenes, and so on.

So anyway, Blood/Vampire enthusiasts, let's talk. [:D]

Oh, oh. My very favorite topic. Blood play, is without a doubt, my #1 kink. It's messy and sacred and painful and exhilerating all at the same time. The messy used to be a problem as I was ruining expensive towels but then we discovered the joys of heavy mm drop cloths (for painters) and can get 4 uses out of a single sheet for just a few dimes per use so that problem was solved by the good ol' folks at our local hardware store.

The fun stuff - there is a wicked delight in the spilling of blood for me. Everything from watching it drip out of my own body forming into different patterns to the actual sensations garnered by the cutting itself and the wonderful designs that can be made on a human canvas with a combination of knife, needles .. maybe some colored wax and strategic rope use to round things out. There is a stillness and calmness that takes place inside me when I am trying not to move (have had accidents with sudden movement so I do try to be extra careful in this area but.. eh, shit happens don't it?) during a scene. Couple that with some low background sounds and it's a little taste of heaven on earth which I find very appealing on a visceral level. Most of SM provokes reaction from my baser instincts which is one of the reasons that I really enjoy that sort of play but some of them hit up my spiritual and intellectual sides as well and blood play is in that category.

Intellectually, I am very aware of the danger involved in allowing too much blood to spill so the edge is right there to tumble over if we're not careful. Spiritually, blood is life, running all the parts of my body so they are in sync and allow my existance, allow me to give birth, to feed what grows in my belly (though those days are long past for me now) and so I consider it sacred and with the spilling of it, as in blood letting, is like defying gods.. and puts me, mentally, into another place far away from my mostly mundane activities. I love everything about blood.. the smell, the taste, the sight.. how it makes me feel when it's spilled, the way my pulse races when I know I'm going to be doing a scene with blood letting. It's almost like my blood itself is pounding from the inside of my flesh to get out, be freed and I am more than happy to accomdating the demand knowing it's a renewable resource and will replenish itself in time. Fascinating stuff, blood. Too much spilled and I know I could die.. just the right amount and I fly. Love it!

I love the visual aspect of bloodplay, the way it looks set against someone's skin, the way it flows, runs etc. I love the sight, the smells, the heightened physical and emotional responses to the sight of blood. I love the way it's so 'primal', the whole 'dark romantic' tie in with Vampires, etc etc. [:D]

And yes definitely I understand it's edge play as well. It's something I absolutely I approach with a lot of respect/caution. I'm certainly not one to take the idea of Bloodplay lightly, or ignore/play down its risks.

I'm part Vampire ;-p Might not be a hardcore one, then again for some people anything dealing with blood is extreme. This is one of the optional activities for me and not a deal breaker or must have. At the moment, I'm retired Vampire.

Frack Frack Frack me, damn if I do or damn if I don't. I've enjoyed this in the past, but it's not important enough for me to have as a must have. Sorry, I'm finding it important to express things with a level of honesty at the moment.

I've never engaged in what might be considered Major Blood letting, I have had a thing for using lancets. Damn, Damn me, past tense or current tense? Past tense cause it's been awhile.

After my partner and me were screened, we took a file of each others blood, mixed it with vodka and drank it like a shot. Blood bonding is incredible and deeply intimate.
Not any ones blood has this effect on me. I can watch someone else doing needle play and get nothing out of seeing those specks of blood on the flesh. I have worked with needle bunnies where I feel absolutely nothing. I have worked with a few where those little rivers of red make me feel hugely spacey but because we are not blood bonded, I can do little more than run a gloved finger through the wetness.
Last year my partner and me did a double suspension. That in itself was unforgettable but when it was over and we embraced in each others bloody bodies, that was the most emotionally bonding thing we have ever done.

Same here. For me a lot of comes down to shared pleasure - I don't get off just on seeing the blood on someone's skin, I get off on seeing the blood on someone's skin, AND knowing that they're enjoying it as well. I have little to no interest in someone who just wants to passively bleed for me, but gets nothing out of it themselves. I want it to be more of a situation where we're using the blood to heighten each others pleasure/sensation.

Haven't engaged in major blood letting either, it's not necessarily the quantity for me as opposed to the quality of a blood scene. Out of all the different methods of blood letting though, the one that appeals to the most is the actual drawing of blood from a vein (phlebotomy sp?). I'm definitely no where near qualified to engage in that though, so it remains on the 'strictly for fantasy purposes' only list. I do like to admire, and touch/caress/inspect people's veins though with the idea that a syringe full of blood stuck in their arm would be rather nice, thank you. [:D]

I can't describe the feeling.. it's overwhelming when we feed on each other but I can't begin to imagine it would feel like that with anyone else. I love the idea of doing blood shots. We have never tried it with alcohol mixed in. I am going to see if it's something he would like. He does have a fondness for Absolut.

I have to admit the drinking blood aspect is the least desirable part of the bloodplay aspect, except when it happens in conjunction with Vampire roleplaying. I prefer the idea of me actually bleeding onto someone, and then pretending to drink their blood when I'm playing a Vampire, than actually share in the drinking of anyone else's blood. But definitely I can see the appeal, and the way you've described does make me go 'Hmmm' *perks up with interest* [:D]

For sure it's not for everyone but it is so different than any of the other wet sorta stuff. Blood has to be actively sought. It doesn't just spill on its own so it's precious in that regard as well. Don't get me wrong.. I'm a Pisces, so I'm all over the wet stuff (fish have to stay wet to survive after all!) but the blood is alway hidden just below the surface and when that surface is cut open and it wells forth, I get hungry for it.. like I said, so long as it's his. :D

This thread is getting me itchy for some blood play. Himself is in Portugal right now, but we are going to Rome this weekend to go see the ballet of Romeo and Juliet. I'm thinking a blood letting would be a perfect end to that evening. I'm going to suggest it and see what he thinks. I'm also out of drop cloths right now so I'd better quit this thread or I'm going to be ruining some more towels. ::laughs::

Oh, lovely. A night of Shakespearean Ballet in Rome, followed by bloodletting. Sounds like my idea of the perfect date. [:D]

Whilst I am traditionally blood bonded to my Lakota Blood Brother, I have had little occasion to experience Blood Play but but on my list of things I want to do. I fascinates me on numerous levels.

I actually don't use the term vampire, even though some folks would say it was accurate.  I'm also not one who necessarily thinks there has to be a great deal of blood involved.  I almost hate to make a joke out of something that I find so deeply intimate and personal, but in My case, even a dab will do you.

All of these forms of play where blood are nature's result, needles, cutting, and the like are very spiritual in nature to Me.  They literally feel different.  Yes, they can be painful to the bottom, but it isn't My sadistic nature that's at work with them.  It's the connection and the bond.  It's the being inside the submissive that touches Me.  That implement that I'm using is an extension of Me.  Blood is the body's physical way of that confirmed.  Tasting that blood is something of the sense of My submissive being inside of Me as well.  That is part of what makes it complete for Me.  It can't just be the giving.  It has to be the taking, too.

I'll be honest (with myself and others) and admit I have a deep fascination with blood/cutting/sharp instruments. 

The topic, at this point for me, is almost too personal to post about but I finally admitted recently to a friend here that I enjoy not just blood but the viseral feel both emotionally and physically of the cutting and the idea of having what's inside out. 
I haven't been able to find a partner that 1) was willing to engage in this sort of play and 2) I was interested enough to bond with in this way.  It does turn some people off to both the activity and me.

For now, I am my own voodoo doll.  I've used my blood and other bits & pieces in some artwork.  I look forward to doing this sort of thing...creating a very personal piece of art...if and when I do find my "partner in crime".

I love the idea of blood play and I do get a fair bit turned on thinking about it.

Unfortunately for me, I loathe pain and so does my partner. We're both terrified of needles, too.
In addition, I self-harm so I associate pain with being in a really negative state mentally, and I don't want to put myself in that position.
So if anyone has a pain-free way of getting into blood play, I'd love to hear it!

I really love blood. The sight of it, the feel of it, the smell of it. Mine, other people's, whatever.

I don't consider myself a "vampire", that's a subculture that I really don't know anything about. I don't necessarily have to drink the blood, though the temptation to lick it up is generally pretty strong. Blood is so primal, so essential... it's getting INSIDE a person.

The last time we played inadvertently turned into blood play and I would say that we both enjoyed ourselves very much. He was using a meat tenderizer, the kind that has little knives to stick into the meat and he was using it on my thighs and back. Needless to say, I started dripping blood. He did his best to make me bleed more and used it to fingerpaint my body with and feed it to me.

It was very primal, painful and cathartic. He has also decide that we are going to start carrying our own drop cloths from now on when we go out. This is twice that our play turned bloody when it wasn't really intended to and we had to get the help of DM's to bring over plastic. Since plastic sticks everywhere when you get sweaty and bloody we are bringing our own drop cloths.
