Thank you laurell for inadvertently naming this thread. Perfect thank you so much! I was knocking my brains trying to formulate this thread, (or yarn[:D]).

From the same thread where I got the name, "Yarngate" I found this cool post of KnightofMists which will help present the pressing dilemma of Kyras Kneeds for Knights let her Knit Publicly. Or better said, Yarngate. I trimmed it a tiny bit to be more pertinent to this thread.

I do think it's it good to know at times that one isn't alone in expressing an opinion. But just because others agree... is not going to sway my view or perception of an issue. Logic and reason is what I look at...not popular opinion..

Please chime in and give your input and thoughts on the ban Knights has put on his Kyra to knit in public. He did mention it was an arbitrary decision to stop her knitting in public. There was some research done to the healthful benefits of knitting presented which did seem to make a dent in Kyra's case. Knights did say his opinion could be swayed. Perhaps together we can stitch together a solid presentation (full of logic and reason^^^^lol) about the wonderful benefits of knitting which may sway Knights to see the purl of wisdom in casting off his ban.

Well, i will mew for all us feline-folk.

She was being an awful tease with that yarn...
Knitting and pearling, seducing us to give her a good pouncing... right out in public !!!

I dont understand. Who was being a tease?

Certainly not Kyra.

Please dont say anything that might hurt Kyra's case I hope for her to be freely and victoriously knitting out in the world asap!

PUBLIC KNITTER!! That is me. Not that I am all rude and yank it out at meetings and stuff. But when there is nothing going on, like a car ride.. HEY!

Just breaks my heart, thinking of poor Kyra, hiding in closets to knit...

DarlingSavage -> RE: Yarngate (7/1/2010 8:49:33 AM)

I have knitted in public, I am not ashamed!  I will knit in public again!  I have also crocheted in public.  Public knitting is not a crime!  Yarn to the people!

heartcream -> RE: Yarngate (7/1/2010 5:10:37 PM)

Knights are you out there?

*HC knits her brow scanning the horizon for any sign of the sound of horse hoofs approaching with news of redemption for Kyra's Knitting Future. She cups her hand to project her voice across the abyss,

"KnightofMists? Arrrre you therrrrre?"

*the sounds echos and bounces around as she searches for signs of approaching life.

She thinks maybe she ought to send a cable across the fair isle.

Or maybe go scarf down dinner? Set up camp with a warm blanket around her shoulders waiting for what wool happen next.

laurell3 -> RE: Yarngate (7/1/2010 5:11:23 PM)

haha you're welcome.

LET THERE BE YARN!!!!

ShaharThorne -> RE: Yarngate (7/1/2010 5:25:02 PM)

As the goddess of yarn, I have deemed that Kyra should knit in public.  If someone dares to take Kyra for his own, she can stab with the needles, if not the scissors.

MadameMarque -> RE: Yarngate (7/2/2010 2:51:45 AM)

There's actually a reemergence of knitting as a social activity! On a kinda cute crafting show, they were talking about it. There was a woman there who's got a book out, directed at teens who're getting into knitting. She and the woman who hosts the show and a very manly couple of guys were knitting and discussing it. The men said that every time they knit in public, it's a great socializing point, people are friendly and interested. People are having social hours, centered around knitting, snacking, even a little drink. The one woman said she has a T that says, "I like to knit while slightly lit" :)

Knitting Kneeds to be talked about!

LadyPact -> RE: Yarngate (7/3/2010 12:21:00 PM)

I don't know, heartcream.  I'm not sure if grabbing the troll comment from the other thread helps or hurts Kyra's cause.

domiguy -> RE: Yarngate (7/3/2010 12:25:13 PM)

If Kyra can knit a double headed dildo, I say let her knit!!!

If the task is impossible than the pursuit is of little use and is a distraction to the chores at hand.

Okay, okay, Knights omit this last post of mine. Sometimes I know not what I do.

Lady Pact, I am glad you pointed out my error. You are right, this may not have been helpful. Thank you for your input, I appreciate it.

Thank you for the input so far everyone who posted! I havent given up my campaign!

I think maybe some of the other posts were more helpful and maybe domi helped with the twig and berries? I am certain Kyra would rarely, if ever pick up her knitting when other chores needed to be done.

Knights there is quite a bit of logic and reason in putting forth this petition of your blanket ban of knitting in public. Of this I am certain I am not on the wrong side. Turn.

sunshinemiss -> RE: Yarngate (7/4/2010 1:28:15 AM)

Have you seen this thread? http://www.collarchat.com/m_3230087/mpage_1/tm.htm

heartcream -> RE: Yarngate (7/4/2010 7:01:11 AM)

Nooooo, I havent seen that thread. How cool, and how did I not see that?

Knights have you changed your mind after all of this yet?

Do tell!

~Love, from a Knitting Beaver

PS Although I rarely knit in the summer months.

Jeffff -> RE: Yarngate (7/4/2010 7:05:42 AM)

creamy... I would like to take a moment and thank you for the "knitting beaver" visual!

heartcream -> RE: Yarngate (7/4/2010 9:50:06 AM)

Ahh Jeff thanks man.

Beavers knitting in public is even more pretty to watch.

*knits brow wondering when Knights will lace this thread with his presence.
