I know I represent almost zero of the population in the lifestyle, but here goes...

I enjoy spitting *sometimes*.
          It is one of the very few ways that a sub will experience an "intimate" body fluid from me. I'm not into the sex stuff or any of the sexual fluids. I don't do water sports. I don't do scat. I prefer a sub doesn't touch me if I'm sweaty. The *only* body fluids I tend to share on an intimate level are saliva and blood.
I don't expect others to understand this, really, at all.
But if I were to spit on my subs/slaves, it would be almost an honor. They don't get those "headspace" moments of "having their Mistress's (insert body fluid here)" that other subs in other relationships might get. They don't "drink my nectar" or "drink from my fountain" or any of that. (In fact, those phrases all sicken my stomach).
In this sense, the spitting wouldn't be on a humiliation level at all. It would be a sensual thing.

I might spit on someone in a scene, but it wouldn't be to humiliate them as much as to make me feel more powerful, like an attacker, like a turf-marking. Of course, it would depend on the scene. I really have no desire to spit on someone while I'm flogging and caning to a drum bass beat in a steady rythmatic fashion.
On the other hand, if it's an intense scene in which I am kicking and punching and slapping, I'd probably be exactly in that fiery "fuck you" headspace to spit.
I did a belting scene with my boy a few months back in which spitting became a large part of the scene for me, but not for him at all. If I remember correctly, he had 212 swats with the leather belt, no stops, no rest, no safe words. When we began, he was kneeling, face down on the sofa. By about half way through he was curled up in a defensive position on the floor. I must have spit on him at least 10 times during that scene, and I don't think he even realized it.
In that sense too, it wasn't a humiliation thing.

As I said though, I represent a total of 1 Domme, so take my answer for what it's worth to you.

I enjoy spitting sometimes.I keep fluid transmission to a minimum so
if I do spit its not in the mouth.The face is okay with a blindfold and mouth taped closed.

I do like to spit hot coffee in the direction of the genitals.This(hot coffee) also works with holes in the plastic wrap during mummification.

Dommes I have played with have used spit as turf marking.   They have also used it as a erptic teasing tool...spitting into my mouth.

Just my opinion....but to me...spitting on someone denotes the highest implication of disregard.......
and...call me old fashioned?...but i think it's also very unnattractive

I enjoy spitting on my sub coupled with some verbal humiliation.  I love smearing it into his face afterwards and sometimes add a facelsap.

I believe it would depend on my degree of surrender to that Dom.  I would have to tolerate it if  I'm her slave, and with some I would crave it, even in the face or the mouth.

Spitting is a staple of my brand of humiliation play.  As spankmepink11 said, it denotes an implication of disregard.  Paraphrased for my purposes and your reading pleasure.  I do avoid the mouth as best as possible, for health reasons, such as a cold, etc.

I would say there are many elements that I plan going into a scene, then there's the intercourse that actually happens. I have subs asking for spit, slapping, showers as part of the scene fairly often. I always tell them that I don't script and what happens is purely the crooked inspirational thought process when I am in top space. Recently in a scene I was in the middle of some fun humiliation bondage, totally exposing the subs balls and ass by binding him buns up, spread wide. I grabbed a speculum to open his backside and was suddenly thirsty. I grabbed the ice cold bottle of water nearby when it hit me! I took that mouth full, and spit all over his taint! One of those great moments when I say, why didn't I think of THAT before???

Post scene he said that one of the things he enjoys is that I am creative during our sessions, and he loved the repeated spitting of ice water. He was steeled for pain and humiliation and he said he almost blacked out from the shock and it took him awhile to even figure out what I had done. Ah, the element of surprise.

Finally, I often spit on small dicked subs, it's more intense than any verbal insult.

I have always thought of spitting as a hard limit for me. I find it disgusting when a man does it in front of any female.
 
Right this minute, after being reminded of how I actually enjoyed spitting as a sign of disgust once, and, after reading about spitting hot coffee in the holes while a sub is in Mummy state, and I have the perfect subbie in mind for that one! Then, ice cold water where the sun doesn't shine much, add to that subfever's smart ass comments, and I am getting all warm and fuzzying up to the idea.[8D]

I must admit I didnt like the idea of spitting on my boy at first but at some point it felt like the obvious thing to do next when we were playing.  I have still only done it when he is blindfolded for some reason I dont like him looking at me when I do it but Its getting to the point where I dont care if he see's me now :) And he loves it.  I didnt at all like a picture I saw of someone spitting in someones muth though it grossed me out for some reason !!!

It looks like there is quite a variety with regards to spitting.   It is one of those things that holds no appeal for me.  I think it is really disgusting even when men do it outside.  But I like to walk around barefoot even outside.  It takes away the pleasure of barefooting if I have to watch every step I take outdoors. 

I could be wrong, but there is a population of males, both dominant & submissive who seem to take greater pleasure as these acts become what I view as more & more disgusting. (Yes, I know it is a subjective opinion on my part & there are women who feel the same way.)

I take much more pleasure in knowing my submissive is attending to my comfort & pleasures & is happily willing to please me, whether it be to take out the garbage, or give me a nice footrub.
