Please don't tempt me so. I can ruin it for everyone. I am not feeling particularly patriotic right now. The cynicism of which I am capable is dangerous.

Just go watch the boom booms. Enjoy, it might be the last time.

T

BTW got those $150 kits for $75. Burn the motherfucking house down ! After all, it's worth more that way than trying to sell it. Well worth the money. Consider it an investment.

I know I would enjoy a healthy dose of Termy cynicism to kick off the long festivities this weekend.

I hope things are going well in the bunker my friend.

Headed to the lake with family and friends.

Seems everyone wanted that Asian/Oriental slaw (with the ramen noodles), but no one wanted to make it. So that's my dish to contribute.

Everyone enjoy their weekend.

Again we are going to a friend's house for the celebration (they might as well be family).  I will be bringing the deserts.  I think parfaits, filled filo cups, and a cookie tray.  I have the fireworks bought (I typically buy a bag for ALL the kiddos to share), and all of the outfits as well.

Favorite recipe?  Rack of lamb.

How am I celebrating? I plan on turning off everything in my house, sleeping the day away, getting drunk for the first part of the night and then passing back out until tomorrow. I hate holidays and do not generally partake in them. So I sleep through them and get them over with. My recipe to share? Coconut Rum mixed 50/50 with Diet Pepsi or Jagemeister mixed with Sprite.

Holly. . . Holly. . . Holly. . . make it easy on yourself.  Do ice-cream sundaes.  On your way to where you are going, stop at the store, buy a gallon of vanilla ice cream, several kinds of topping, some sprinkles, and canned whipped cream!  Wah-Lah!

While you are in the store, let Jim and LO go to the firework stand to spend 20-40 bucks on some fireworks!

Wheeeeeeeee!

I'm celebrating by taking my dog to my mother's place where there the neighborhood fireworks are at a minimum and then waiting until I can safely return home (when the fireworks in my neighborhood are over.)

My favorite recipe to make?

Empty one can of Nalley's beef stew into a sauce pan.
Heat on medium high until gravy starts to bubble.
Place contents into bowl.
(Adding crackers at this point is optional)
Eat.

since my boyfriend's wonderful lot of friends and family have discovered that i can cook my cute ass off(formally trained in both French and Spainish/Mexican cooking)- i have been volunteered to supply the following: mango-starfruit margaritas, lobster, shrimp, and cheasapeak blue crab salad(oh the joys of moving to maryland), paella(Spanish seafood and rice dish) cottage pie(not really a 4th of july food i imagine...), and my homemade passion fruit and kiwi ice cream.

lol

With the weather as bad as it is, I don't really have any plans. If things clear up, I may go to the riverwalk in Beaumont, listen to the symphony (or one of the bands outside), and watch the fireworks, maybe push a kid or two into the water.

with a side of fishing with my lil man at the local lake.
life is purrfect,

Happy 4th of July to everyone, be safe.

Huge party this afternoon, then on a friends boat later to watch the fireworks over the bay, with lobster, oysters, shrimp cocktail and crab claws.  My girlfriend is making bellini's and I am making homemade sangria and a caprese salad.  It should be super fun. It's gorgeous here, 85 and sunny, and I hope everyone has a blast. :)
