The only scene in hostel I did enjoy (or rather get turned on by) was actually in hostel 2. The one scene where the one female in the huge tub cuts the other that is suspended above her and showers in her blood. Murder doesn't really do it for me but blood defiantly does.

As for your foot stomping with the different categories on this message board...anyone can post anywhere.

While I agree in principle, there is such a thing as courtesy, as I have been kindly and less than kindly reminded in the Mistress section.

Incidentally, the perv in me simply must know: who came up with 'a2m girl' as a title?

Health,

Those who have not viewed the film but have had similar experiences with other productions are invited to jump in as well.

I am not a horror movie fan. Aside from that, a horror movie usually lacks everything.
There's no agency. No control of events. No flow or emotional interaction.
Ask me if I would make an erotic horror movie if I had the budget...

Regarding the specific question, there have been scenes in some movies.

Impalement. Asphyxiation. Beatings.
The acting, not the action, makes it work.
Gore is just an unwanted side-effect of fantasy.

Health,
al-Aswad.

were you in any way aroused by the torture scenes included in it?

I ask as I came upon it while browsing movie channels the other day, and- in light of my recent interactions with the sadists on this forum- viewed it quite differently than before. It occurred to me while watching that this might be something some of you found 'exciting' in ways other than what the director intended. Was this the case for anyone here? Those who have not viewed the film but have had similar experiences with other productions are invited to jump in as well.

As a corollary, if such an operation existed in earnest, would you be tempted to visit? (anyone reluctant to answer this portion in the affirmative even under the condition of relative anonymity are welcome to answer via private message)

No and no, but fear play scenes that convincingly replicate some of Hostel and the Saws are EXTREMELY arousing. Unfortunately the conditions where they will be effective are extremely hard to achieve.

Gonna toss in my 3 cents. (Dang inflation)

From a strictly Dominant Control point of view, anything involving the Most control possible could at least in some way be considered erotic. If you are actually a sadist and enjoy causing pain and this is what really arouses you, then forced or concentual pain that you cause would all arouse you since causing pain is the arousal factor. Now, thinking of a Movie most would NOT associate with this lol, a thought came to mind from Conan the Barbarian, Thulsa Doom looking at a young woman on a cliff and calling her to him. She jumped and died. His response was something to the effect of "Now That is Power." So having the ability to control someone so thoroughly that they would die willingly could be erotic. No reason why that level of power would not arouse you from an unwilling victim also. Power currupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

So with all this said, Can I see someone being aroused by at least some of the movie or movies assuming we are including Part 2? Sure. For anyone who gets a heady rush out of Dominating someone the thrill is potentially there. Of course for most it is offset by the blood, gore, body parts, fluids, vomit, excrement and all the other wonderful things that often go with a real dismemberment. Also for me the Bloodhound tatoo that is required just would not do it for me. Then add in the cost. Which is offset some by it being unlikely you will get caught since this is an established and well thought out group in a country which does not appear to really care. I mean when you have to go catch your own victim, track them down, drag them home, mess up your own basement, then get rid of the body and the evidence and clean the crime scene so CSI doesnt come in and find some little hair or spit or something, Man that gets expensive. So ok...the cost is probably not that much really, not to mention the peace of mind of it being a long way from home.

But dang it, that tatoo just doesnt work for me. Oh well.

I've seen the Movie and flipped through the sequel (this time some girls get tortured/killed). I didn't find the movies arousing or a turn-on at all.

Personally I don't enjoy inflicting pain in it's own right - except when it when it serves to emphasize the dominant/submissive paradigm - and then it isn't the pain as much as the fact as my partner's submission to it.

I think the movies play up a very different kind of titillation though. There's this gut-sick feeling you get - when you don't want the guy to put a blowtorch to the girl's face - because you know how utterly unnaturally wrong that kind of bodily damage is. But there's a small part of you that says, 'this is just a movie and no one's getting hurt, besides aren't you curious to see what will happen when he does that?'
And this goes for most horror/slasher pics

FYI That scene is based on the life and accounts of Elizabeth Bathery. How accurate that was I do not know.

Regarding the OPs original question - Quentin's movie Hostel 1 is something that for other reasons I can not watch with an unbiased mind..

My ex wife showed it to my son, age six at the time and my daughter age 10. I video taped my son and daughter describing a scene to me in my kitchen. I purchased and watched to find this scene and edited that scene under my children's audio track describing the scene. The local Department of Destroying children and fathers found nothing wrong with the mother showing this to my children. When DCF agents watched my comped video of my children describing the scene and then the scene ( Drills him with a power drill, Says "Oh you want to go? cuts his achilles tendon ) in my studio on dual flat screen monitors, volume cranked and video taped these two dykes from DCF and there reaction, they became upset with me and asked that I turn it off.. but you found nothing wrong with a six year old boy watching it

No I was not aroused. Interestingly I have used hypothetical references to that movie several times in threads here on CM and the mods have pulled them from the boards. Hmmmm

I would not be tempted to visit such a place. A friend of mine, a film major and photographer attended and observed something similar in real life (Not in the US) and I would say it did not help him.
