Come on guys... at least it's a dry heat... Like in my Oven.

It was 108 today should be 111 by Friday.

I got a Swamp Cooler,

Everyone Kindly Fuck Off.

How about soaking in a hot spring until it is absolutely unbearable and one is a prune, and then racing stark naked to the snowmelt-fed river and plunging in?

It's not the heat, it's the stupidity.
Heat is seasonal...stupidity is all year round

ShaharThorne -> RE: 102 degrees is too hot! (7/7/2010 5:38:24 AM)

I want some ice cream for breakfast, but it will have to wait until later.  Getting an ECHO done this morning.

Take away the hot spring stuff and I'm there. Add to this that my air conditioner is NOT keeping up with the heat and I may have to book a trip to the Arctic to cool off.

It just crept over 70F here for the first time today all year. It's been a miserably chilly spring and summer. Want to trade?

Sure though it might be easier if we just swap apartments. A warning though, with humidity the forecast is for 106F today and 113F on Friday. Still want to trade?
Zeph, don't you live in Canada?  I didn't know it ever got hotter there than it does here in Georgia-lol.

I am hereby thankful for my middle 90's with humidity of 130%.

ShaharThorne -> RE: 102 degrees is too hot! (7/7/2010 5:50:09 AM)

Shotgun for the AC.  When we had a cooler,it was in the dining site (open area for the kitchen, living and dining area)  We had to keep the cooler wet all the time.  J and me had the lovely chore in making sure that is as wet...between the 2 of us...we wonder how it actually got wet (while we were spraying each other instead).

get a fan.  put either a wet towel on the front or back of it.  you will have a cooler room in no time.

EXACTLY!  It's always too hot or too cold. Like PTB said, "Get over it, it's summer". You were expecting more snow?[8|]

barelynangel -> RE: 102 degrees is too hot! (7/7/2010 5:53:01 AM)

i hear you PAHunkboy -- while we aren't actually in the 100s yet -- we have been already this year (which is way early) and have just come off a cold front -- 90-92 degrees - whoo hoo, but its getting hotter again.  The problem i have with this is not the heat so much though i would like mother nature to get over it lol but the humidity. Its like trying to breath through a mask and a brick to the chest when you walk outside-- blah.

i am seriously considering changing my ringtone to "let it snow, let it snow, let it snow." or "Winter Wonderland"

It was funny when it was cooler last week it was like kids getting released from school -- EVERyONE was out for lunch etc downtown.  Everyone was saying how they remember this type of summer, when kids can actually play outside without worrying about heatstroke.  However, when its like this, you can see the substantial decrease of people on the street.

SO add me to the heat (and will add humity) whinge fest here because i hear ya.

Hey Zeph.....I was watching this cable show "Extreme Waterparks" & they mentioned a mall in Canada that has the largest waterpark around (indoors). Are you near that? It looked INCREDIBLE!

**Eta, can't remember the name of the mall.....I want to say "Edmonston Mall" but I'm not 100% sure**

Yeah it's Edmonton Mall and no I'm nowhere near it *really sad face* I may try to crawl inside my freezer

LaserKitty -> RE: 102 degrees is too hot! (7/7/2010 5:59:30 AM)

I don't mind heat, so much.  I DETEST humidity.  I hate getting out of the shower, drying off, and then feeling just as wet as I was before toweling off.  Lately, when I go to work, there is inevitably a wet strip on my work shirt where the seat belt crosses my chest.  In drier climates, that NEVER happened.

That's a shame. How far is it from you? You said you're on vacation maybe you can go there & spend the night at a local motel & spend 2 days at the pool? Bungee jumping, incredible slides, wave pool..................all indoors!  Can't get much better than that [:D]

VirginPotty -> RE: 102 degrees is too hot! (7/7/2010 6:05:28 AM)

What about this one, Zeph...

Cultus Lake Water Park - British Columbia, Canada

The Cultus Lake WaterPark in British Columbia isn't very big, but they have some pretty interesting rides. One of the more extreme rides is called the Valley of Fear, which is a free fall tube ride that drops you 45 feet in this half pipe of water fun. And, another water slide drops you from 72 feet high!

Given that I live at the opposite end of the country from BC it's no help at all. Thanks for the suggestions though. On the good side maybe I can melt off some weight this way.

VP?  Are you trying to live vicariously? [;)]

DesFIP -> RE: 102 degrees is too hot! (7/7/2010 6:13:11 AM)

Must be tough in this heat, wearing that fur coat all the time, dear polar bear.

How far are you from Niagara Falls? There's an indoor water park there.

Or for a list of them in Ontario, http://traveltips.usatoday.com/indoor-water-parks-ontario-canada-3897.html
