Heres a perfect example of how our nanny government is protecting us. Boric acid is mined directly from the Earth. Its perfectly natural and has many widely accepted uses. Its sold as a rash cure, you put it on a babys butt and it will cure diaper rash in no time. Mix a little in water and wash your eye out with it and it will cure pink eye and other infections. Aspirin is more deadly, while baking soda is only slightly worse in toxicity.

Heres the MSDS safety data sheet for boric acid:

http://www.sciencelab.com/xMSDS-Boric_acid-9927105

If a small businessman asks a night janitor to spread a little of it around as a safe, natural insecticide (which is a widely accepted use) and then clean it up later and he has every right to refuse due to OSHA regulations.

Funny how one companies over the top MSDS is some how an indication that the government is at fault. In reality the company that produced that MSDS is at fault.

Here is another MSDS for Boric Acid:

No, I was giving examples of what nanny states do, when you wigged out and said I can't travel any more, and insisted that I can't post about such examples because I have to believe in states rights because I lean right...

quote:

ORIGINAL: juliaoceania

Oh yeah, you were ranting about how the state was taking your rights, even though you don't even live in those states... it must be rough to not be able to decide whether you favor state's rights, or you don't[8|]

First, twice people have posted a response to your boric acid example and twice you have ignored them to squabble because you like to deride states for their regulations when they are acting within their rights....

I find it odd that someone would want to stop all government regulation that keeps people safe. I find the people who think like this lack basic rational thinking. Why would you welcome things like asbestos, dioxin, etc, into your environment? Don't you want clean air?

You live in Idaho, land of the white flight fucktards, you perhaps have never had to live with environmental pollution, which is why you should move to China, it is a deregulators dream, you would fucking love that country!

slvemike4u -> RE: What is the 'nanny state' ? (7/8/2010 7:13:31 PM)

My dear Julia...I have never been so turned on.I'm telling you I got a woody when you suggested sanity move to China.
I think I'm in love.

Sanity -> RE: What is the 'nanny state' ? (7/8/2010 7:58:07 PM)

"Stop all government regulation"???

Try to address what I posted, instead of the voices in your head julia. And where do you suppose all the "white flight fucktards" in Idaho are from?

Yeah - they're Californians.

And why do you resent them so, of course they're leaving that hell hole as fast as they can. What do you expect with California being one of the most Liberal, heavily taxed and oppressively regulated "nanny states" in the nation.

I resent the home of White Power movements and dumb fuck militias... Mark Fuhrman types... (doesn't he live there?)

Back to the thread that you keep trying to ignore by your lame attempts at flirting with me, etc.... you ignored two posts about your boric acid examples...

And like I said, if you want to live with complete deregulation... move to China

They're from California, just like you.

We have all kinds living here, just like everywhere else. And wouldn't you know it, Fuhrman is from California too. [;)]

You're the one who admits to perving my profile julia. But like I say, I'm used to all the attention so its okay.

No ones made a decent point about the boric acid. And two of those who replied about it are incoherent babblers who I rarely if ever respond to.

Or I could stay here in Idaho, where many of the wealthiest, most successful Californians are fleeing to (much to your chagrin)!

Owner59 -> RE: What is the 'nanny state' ? (7/8/2010 8:22:44 PM)

A nanny state(gov.) is one that bails out corporations and banks with our money, after they`ve gambled with our savings, pensions and investments and crapped out.

To the tune of 250 billion and more.

http://cbs5.com/national/bush.financial.bailout.2.840104.html

The nanny state that cons refer to is not letting people starve, go naked or die in alleyways.

Which is what Jesus would do.

Let me type this s-l-o-w-l-y for you so that you may understand that hailing from a state within this country is not like having a nationality... we are all Americans no matter where we live, we become a citizen of whatever state we move to when we change our address.... you do understand this, right? I mean, it is not a complicated idea, try harder to grasp it.

Yes we have those types, they moved to Orange County and Idaho....

You are attempting to derail the thread because you are pointless, you have no answer so you keep harping on this... pathetic.

We have enough people here, I hope more leave and go to Idaho, and pollute that state instead of mine

Sanity -> RE: What is the 'nanny state' ? (7/8/2010 8:43:16 PM)

Idaho isn't being polluted, we have sensible regulations and a business friendly environment up here.

You on the other hand  have enough welfare recipients and unionized state employees (etc) receiving handouts, but not nearly enough wealth being made to support them - all of which can be laid directly at the feet of  nanny state mentality that California has become.

Bush's Choice for EPA Job Oversaw Worsening Pollution in Idaho
by Seth Borenstein

WASHINGTON - Idaho Gov. Dirk Kempthorne, President Bush's top candidate to head the Environmental Protection Agency, has cut his state's environmental budget three times and sharply reduced enforcement of environmental regulations.

During Kempthorne's four-and-a-half-year tenure as governor, Idaho's pristine air has gotten dirtier, more rivers have been polluted, fewer polluters have been inspected and more toxins have contaminated the air, water and land, according to a Knight Ridder analysis of Idaho pollution data from EPA and state records.

In the same period, the nation's air and water have gotten cleaner on average, and fewer toxins have been emitted, EPA officials said Monday

Owner59 -> RE: What is the 'nanny state' ? (7/8/2010 8:52:55 PM)

What sanity is trying to say is it doesn`t seem dirtier at his mom`s home, where he still lives.[:D]

Sanity -> RE: What is the 'nanny state' ? (7/8/2010 8:53:25 PM)

As far as your white flight fucktards?

Its not white flight if they're not fleeing somewhere, which is my point. They're Californians, fleeing their home (and for good reason).

Color doesn't have anything to do with it though. If you want to discuss racism lets discuss the California gang situation, and which neighborhoods to avoid depending on what color your skin is.

We booted the racists out, from up in the panhandle, many years back. How are you doing with your racist, violent gangs?

We have nothing like what you have up here.

Sanity -> RE: What is the 'nanny state' ? (7/8/2010 8:55:39 PM)

I'll put our air and our rivers up for comparison against yours any day of the week.

I don't understand the big issue with "white flight" - who needs white people hanging around anyway?

Sanity -> RE: What is the 'nanny state' ? (7/8/2010 9:03:58 PM)

If you think about it julias premise seems to be that people of color ruin an area and whites make an area livable, which is why she resents what she perceives as whites moving to Idaho and leaving her alone in a sea of color.

In reality there are probably just more illegals moving into her neighborhood from Arizona.

IMO if people are so bothered over living next to someone of a different race that they're willing to move house over it, it's for the best.

I wouldn't want my next-door neighbors to totally despise me because of my skin color.

Hopefully that will change when people see essential services cut in order to provide a free education and health care to illegals. And once the Az law is upheld, sanctuary cities are the next thing to fall.

You would love the ads Meg Whitman is running, Sanity. Associating Jerry Brown's career with economic failure at everything from Governor to mayor of Oakland. And with Boxer slipping in the polls to Fiorina, Im actually starting to think this state is ready to turn the corner.

Sanity -> RE: What is the 'nanny state' ? (7/8/2010 9:12:48 PM)

Who cares what color somebody is. Ever notice its usually the Liberals like julia who start going ape shit in these threads over peoples skin color?

Oh hush, the top zomgracism thread on this forum is yours right now [8D]

However, I will say, apart from DYB and a couple posts by LadyCimmaron, most of the racism arguments are made up of white people on both sides.

Not sure what to think about that, really. Though for all I know it could just be that the majority of users who post on this subforum are white.

There are historic reasons for this.... if you are really interested google "red lining" "loans" and "property values"...a little history lesson about why white people moved when people who were a different color came into the neighborhood... and a shameful lesson at that.
