Nah.

'That must be hard'.

That's all you need in terms of platitudes.

VC the extremely good listener.

Well, though you may have the good-listening abilities of a pneumatic drill, VC, at least you don't talk a man's ears into a pulp.

Not a domme but...

the focus is on her pleasure.

I've done a little bit of everything. A Jack off of all trades and a masturbator of none.

How can you say no to cooking, cleaning, modeling, acting, MASSAGES THAT LAST FOR HOURS. Have you noticed everyone is an expert at receiving those massages? I construct and design things from found materials. Artfully functional things like microscopes.b

I do technical work and research as well. I come well prepared and organized to achieve optimum pampering at no cost to her. Well, some kinophilia and attention would be nice but not needed.

I find the hardest thing for me to do is to do nothing. I am always doing something and would like to be told to relax at some point.

I can do everything if I put my mind to it. err... if she puts my mind to it.

Dear Lady Hibiscus and Calichick,

be prepared for massages and bafflement. Birthday girl goes first though.

Heh.  I bet someone, somewhere, has written a computer program that'll do all this listening-actively stuff.  It wouldn't be at all difficult, I shouldn't think:  all it needs is a sensitive-looking-animation-man with an earnest high forehead (and wearing a compassionate woolly jumper, for instance), who'll just keep nodding while staring dynamically at the screen.  As soon some sensor registers that the woman's stopped talking, it can say, with great emotion, stuff like "oh, that sounds awful", "poor you", "I know, I know - they're all the same, aren't they?", and shit.

I swear women must have it in their DNA, or at least I do! An invaluable work related skill!

The easy solution of course is to only ask men Useful Things, like would they use a router or a skil saw? That kind of thing.

It isn't about needing help with the grunt work.  It's the concept of service making My life easier.  Even in your own example, you found something that would be more convenient for you.  In it, if you found someone to fill that, you would be saving either time or money.  That time or money, you can invest differently.  I tend to use Mine in the pursuit of being a better top, doing research, or investing in an event.  They just don't make enough hours in the day for Me to do everything that I want to do in BDSM.

Edited - Whoops.  I didn't exactly answer the question of what they actually do.  I really depends on what is actually needed and what strengths they have.  Don't think for a second that clip's never done My lawn while I was taking care of the arrangements to attend an event for the weekend.  That's one thing that is My territory in the household.  I'm the social calendar person.  Neither of them are any good at it.

LP - I wanted to give You a quick heads up: I shot You an email on the other side. (In the event You have mail filters)

Pyro, relax.

Take 5 minutes everyday & do nothing. Not sleep, just lay there & stare at the sky or the ceiling or whatever.

Those are orders . . . . .

Well for people who do nothing.. lol.. finding time to do anything is hard.. but .. organize my closet and desser which I loathe doing.. put away the laundry which I lothe doing.. dust the window sills which I always forget... take the area rugs outside beat them ... all those chores that I never seem to have the time to do.. oh yes and put the dishes away ( no one in this house seems to like that chore)... its not the daily things.. make the bed.. vaccum.. etc.. its those chores that arent part of the daily routine that I would love someone to take over.

I've had a lot of help over the years. All kinds of service. I love the airport transport--being fetched or taken. My current footboy discovered a love of cleaning up oak leaves of which I have thousands.. so I like to work along side him in the garden while he does this boring task. He just loves it.
I used to have a huge heavy couch which needed to be moved seasonally around the liviing room .. back and forth (Christmas tree had to be in the bay window.. too much sun on it in the summer in the window) So I had the minions toting it around several times a year. Garage cleanups.

If someone likes to help, I've always got a million boring jobs like that available. I once saw a survey that said the number one answer to what household task do men like the best: vacuuming. I haven't done my own vacuuming in years...it seems to be true.

When it comes to service I feel that it's better you don't task males with something they're going to dislike, screw up, or dilly dally over. It's too much hassle. I like things done efficiently and quickly. I try to match the tasks to the person, everyone's satisfied that way. Years ago, when I was young and had the minions, I went to a lot of weddings--I actually had them rated according to their wardrobes, dance talent, personalities and would select the best escort for the occasion. lol

Littlesarbon did a task for me when he was overseas. A research job. I wanted to reward him, but he didn't feel he got exactly what I'd ask for. True he didn't but I think that info isn't readily avail.. he did get lots of valuable bits tho (on formal Shinto Japanese wedding cermonies) that were terrific.
Good service subs are so terrific, I've had wonderful luck with them.

IF we were living in a house (and not a van on the move) and IF we had a sub, Master and I envisage that existing chores would be divided amongst 3 persons and not 2. Neither of us see a sub as a means of getting out of doing all the household chores and as we would prefer a sub continue in his paid employment, that wouldn't be practical either. I would expect the sub to assist Me with some tasks eg act as sous-chef in the kitchen as I am head chef, and he would definitely get to do the washing up as both Master and I hate it and it hurts My back! However, I might delegate authority to the sub to fix a simple meal to keep all of us fed when I am lost in My data analysis or writing! And IF we had a garden, that would be the sub's job ... for neither Master nor I are gardeners!

However, at the moment that is all a moot point as we are travelling all over the countryside with no space in the van for a third body!

Mimicking a pneumatic drill under specific circumstances is definitely one of the things a man can be used for.  ;)

What can I say.  A good man is hard to find, and vice versa.

For ME, the most wonderful slave in the world would be one that took the time to get to know me, observe, ask questions, and begin to anticipate what I really needed done.

GD and I are both very flexible in what exactly we do around the house. There has never been a gender delineation. He cooks, I cook, he cleans, I clean. Certainly we each have things that we tend to gravitate towards more often, he dusts and does floors more, I do laundry more, he cleans the bathroom more, I do almost all of the animal care and gardening, he does most of the mowing. But we don't do them based upon who's 'job' it is. I do the animal stuff because they are my animals. He does the mowing because he is pickier than I am and he knows I would end up turning more of it into horse pasture than he wants.

Living where I do, means there is A LOT of work to be done. It means we both have very little free time for fun stuff. When we make time for fun stuff, usually something around the farmette suffers some sort of neglect. This year, motorcross racing with the grands and GD's studying for work stuff, means the yard and gardens are suffering and horses are not getting ridden.

So yeah, just having someone to watch and see what needs to be done and be willing to do what they can would be awesome.
